Did not realize you could reduce the ban by 50% with an admission of guilt. I guess if that doesn’t move the needle nothing will. SH could have walked away with 2 years if she just fessed up from the start? Omertà! The public loves to give second chances if the cheater confesses bears their soul. I guess if the athlete has no chance of being competitive without doping it lessens any incentive to ever tell the truth.
At this point, it would be really positive for Shelby to go silent and stay out of the spotlight for the next few years. The entire burrito story was a lie, a joke. Same as stolen election lies. Give it up, move on Shel. There are no more appeals or lawsuits to pursue.

heres the thing... she's guilty. Her claim does not hold up and she puts absolutely no effort into proving her case scientifically. A main part of her claim is that she'd never even heard of nandrolene before. Okay great shelby, but you can't prove whether that statement is true or not so it doesn't help you. I feel like she just made a claim and then had to run with it even though it didn't make sense. Why would she win an appeal when she has presented literally no new evidence to help her case. Did she think that they were just going to change their minds out of the goodness of their hearts? Then she wants her fans to pay for her legal bills. I believed her at the beginning but at this point the evidence is against her and shes just annoying me. Someone who believes her, please help me understand why you think she isn't guilty.

What is WADA’s random testing protocol for banned athletes like SH? Is it the same as competing ones, more stringent, or less so? Presumably the system is set up to disincentivize a banned athlete from using the time to dope and rest assured that it will clear their body by the end of their ban?

Confounding variable on a full blown Nike cover up is the Staffords leaving and absolutely letting rip on the situation on the way out making the team/Shelby look horrific in the process and unlike with people who left NOP and bad mouthed it, Nike has been totally silent. Both sisters seem to still be happily sponsored by Nike. Makes me think if there was something fishy going on it was specifically within the team without involvement/possible collateral damage to the swoosh. Otherwise there'd be more concern over how this has gone down. Almost seems like they don't mind if Shelby/Jerry look bad - itself wouldn't be surprising given Alberto's hatred of Schumacher and the rumours of Phil Knight always favoring NOP over BTC.

No, how you do it is that you publicly acknowledge SH’s story and reinstate her, however in secret you exchange her “exoneration” for her going back to BTC and collecting evidence, essentially “wearing a wire” if not literally, then figuratively. Honestly, if the authorities were serious about eliminating doping, it could be done. I’m still confused why suspected doping by any athlete who competes on US soil is not a federal crime and more vigorously pursued? Is the Rodchenkov Act good or bad? The public is being defrauded and money stolen. Please educate me if I’m off base, but what goes on now seems feckless and feeble.

I have to say the continued denial of the facts makes it so much worse for her. It also makes me suspicious of the rest of BTC which isn't fair.
That said I just caught up on the article about GDS departure. Totally support that decision but she couldn't understand why she wasn't allowed to read privileged communication between anti-doping and Houlihan's lawyers?
