Wrong, it is likely I would have run in the 2:40s. I had good times at 8k/10 miles, as I said in this thread I had done a 2.5 hour run. I knew what I was capable of. Just because it rubs you the wrong way doesn't mean I wasn't capable.
Many other posters here agreed with me that based on my times I would have run at least 2:45. So for you to say it was not likely at all is BS.
No, there is no likely about it. The marathon is a completely different animal than 10 miles or whatever your longest race was. You look like a fool when you argue this point. Most runners do not agree with you. You didn't run a marathon when you were your most fit and younger. You will never know what you could have run, and any speculation on your part is worthless. You should not speak of this again.
Wrong! You guys are the ones who keep bringing this up.
I'll say it again so it gets inside your thick skulls. I demonstrated 2:40s marathon ability.
Got it?
I am not the one who keeps talking bout this, it's you and other posters. Just let it go FFS.
Like you said, you should not speak of this again.
I was a pro musician for 10 years. I learned 100s of pages of highly technical and challenging classical music from memory.
I have no doubt the work and mental toughness it took for me to achieve that goes above and beyond anything you've ever achieved.
You contribute absolutely nothing to this thread.
Why do all of your threads devolve into your piano playing? You do know this is a site for runners, not piano players, right? Why do you believe that your piano playing goes above and beyond what others have achieved? That's what narcissists believe; that no one else can ever match up to what they've done. Do you even know what all of us do for a living? Do you you know our education level, or if we've fought in wars, or anything about any of us? We've seen your piano playing. You're not that good. You are full of sh!t, man.
Posters make absurd statements that I've never accomplished anything.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Why do posters like you deviate from the topic? Are you that stupid that you can't read English and indicate how many miles you've run? It would appear that is the case because your posts have nothing.. I'll repeat NOTHING to do with the threads original question.
Why do you not understand English? And my piano playing is pretty good, I was a professional. Why would your opinion mean anything? Just some guy sitting at his computer telling me what they think after I've spent 20 years playing music.
Am I supposed to laugh? Is your opinion supposed to matter? Why would your comment mean anything?

Please stay on topic Greg, piano playing is not part of your life mileage question.
Liar. I didn't mention anything about marathon times on this thread until other posters did.
Pretty clear you want to talk about it and I don't.
I know it bugs you but again I'll say that I demonstrated 2:40s marathon ability.
There, leave it be. If you have to come back that tells me not only does what I demonstrated bug you but you have very poor self control.
One comment shouldn't bother you.
It's sad to see you blatantly lie about your marathon ability. I always thought you were honest and believed you when you said you were a better piano player than Flagpole. Now that you're claiming you could have run a marathon a full hour faster than evidence shows you were capable, I no longer know what to think when it comes to your piano playing.
I'm not lying at all, I didn't bring it up. It's sad that you don't understand English and can't stick to the topic of the thread.

Greg's right (only on that first bit), he didn't bring up the marathon on this thread. Steve the Addict brought it up first -- he suggested that Greg would benefit from training for a marathon, and I agreed. And I still believe it would be a huge positive in Greg's life to train for a quality marathon.
Then another poster (not Greg) brought up Greg's history of belittling other runners who had "only" run 3:00 or so in the marathon, when Greg was confident he would have been much better.
That's a fair criticism of Greg, in my opinion. You should never claim superiority over another runner in a given event, when you're too lazy to attempt it yourself. And the balance of evidence suggests that Greg would do poorly in the marathon.
Again more proof that posters on this thread want to avoid the threads topic.
I don't have a 'history' of belittling other runners, I said something once in a thread or two, that is hardly a history. If you really have your panties in a knot over something I said over a year ago I can only imagine the other problems you would have.
Why would a year+ old thread/comment live rent free in your head?
