Flagpole is damaged goods. He’s a boring sack of potatoes who’s seemingly only contribution to this world is that he put away x percentage of his salary for x number of years. Cool! He lives in Nowhereville, Ohio and spends his days either on LetsRun or patroning one chain establishment or another.

You might make okay money but your top-notch patent attorney brother makes $1 million plus annually. He also has a Ph. D which might interest your wife who herself is an academic. Does she ever come home late? Does she ever have teacher conferences out of town? Yes?

Flagpole, I have agreed with many of your opinions on LRC in the past, but your post today is just plain weird. Why does Jennifer Lopez's marital and engagement history trigger you so badly? IMO, she is an attractive, talented and hard working woman. I hope her children have been OK and happy during her turbulent romantic life. I wish her well. Ben Affleck is an alcoholic. I hope he maintains his sobriety and is happy.

I wish for the same things for both of them that you wish for. You are correct that she has had a turbulent romantic life...which is why Affleck is a fool for wanting to marry her. Getting married isn't for everyone. It's not for Jennifer Lopez.

Well, like I said, this story was pushed to me despite not choosing celebrity news as an interest. I knew my initial post would create a firestorm of comments, and I felt like stirring that pot, so I did. You all stepped up as I knew you would. If you had a son who wanted to marry a thrice-divorced woman who had also been engaged at least two other times, would you think that was a good idea? I would not. Now, if my son wanted to do that, I wouldn't give him any unsolicited advice on that, but if he asked I would tell him what I thought. In the case of Affleck and Lopez, I announce my public disapproval. Why? I just wanted to.
