Is there anything that happens anymore that doesn't have a conspiracy theory twist? The main reason that this is obviously not fake is that the slap seriously damages Will Smith's career and legacy. Up until now, he was America's hero... most people loved him and thought that he was a good person. Not anymore. At best people now think that he has an ego and anger management problem. At worst, people don't want to see him anymore. This is kind of like saying that Bill Cosby staged his crimes, or Matt Lauer staged an assault accusation to get more attention. Not all publicity is good publicity.
1) Overall, CORRECT! For anyone who thought even for a second that this might be faked, the fact that this puts Will Smith in a bad light should be more than enough to stop their moron thought process and realize that this was 100% real.
2) Also CORRECT (and good examples) that not all publicity is good publicity.
3) I am SHOCKED at people even having to think about this to come to the conclusion that it was real. The events as they unfolded were CLEARLY not scripted. I know I have way better powers of observation than the average person, but it doesn't seem to me that anyone needs my level of ability there to understand that this was real. I guess I have once again underestimated by abilities. For those who still actually think this was fake, I am just flabbergasted at their stupidity.
