Back in my days people had jobs and still broke world records.

As for the women's marathon, the event is weak in America.

Just because she can run faster than 99% of you male joggers here doesn't make her performance questionable. More, it makes your performance disappointing

Almost no one with surprising good results gets a free pass anymore. Your demographic, nice personality, how hard you work, your coach and training group can't cover for you anymore. Shelby taught me that! - Ok, with that said, D'Amato checks off several things on my list which suggest she has a high possibility of being clean. To effectively dope you need an extended period of non-competition; dopers will rarely compete in an event where they know they will be tested in all 4 quarters of the year. D'Amato competes all year round. The other thing is, when you look at some of her other performances, 2:19 is not an off the chart performance. And, in terms of her age, I am more suspicious of young athletes who come from out of no where than I am of older ones; many of your top marathoners Kipchoge, Bekele, Rupp, Dibaba, Radcliffe, Edna, Flanagan, Kaster, Hall, Linden where/are in their mid-30s.

Maybe this is why she made all of her results on Athlinks private. Other than trying to hide a rapid progression in fitness, why would an attention-seeking professional athlete want to hide their historic results?

There was a local DC area grandmaster runner who had unbelievable progression and made his athlinks profile private as well. That was exactly what locals were thinking, when you see all your race results on one screen, it tells a story. It's kind of weird to make it private.

Age performance curves are definitely a thing in all sports, and particularly endurance sports. Now, D’Amato gets a bit of an asterisk because she was effectively out of the sport from 24 to 31 years old; however, 24 pretty much coincides with an athlete’s peak physical performance in all sports, and D’Amato was basically on the absolute lowest end of performance for professional runners at that point. With her return to training in her 30s, there is some room for performance increase due to her past injuries limiting her previous performance and new-found training ideals that she has clearly implemented. That gets her 2:34 in Berlin and the US Olympic Trials. Great for her! Since then, there has been a very noticeable jump in performance, change in form, and decrease in body fat/increase in muscle. She just dropped her marathon time by 15 minutes in the span of 18 months at age 37. Improvements this large typically occur between age 18-23. Color me skeptical.

I could not agree more. For starters, 2:22 was already smoking fast and then to go and run almost 3 minutes faster and to be less than a mile from elite men. No way and the to be that far ahead of 2nd place. When one runs far above their talent level and makes unusual strides that again is suspect and a 2:19 for a women on a windy day..come on we all were not born yesterday. Furthermore her coach worked under Salazar and that pretty much says it all. Anyone associated with Salazar as an athlete is drug-aided or using a TUE. Salazar is known for getting a fake illness assigned to an athlete so then he can get a doctor to prescribe banned substances and then USATF does not question it. Keira is for sure aided in some big way and I am just so over this lack of integrity and cheating mentality to rob deserving clean athletes of fame and deserving and earned prize money. I mean look at the girl who got 2nd..a debut race in a sensational 2:29 and that means if Keira and she did dope then Maggie Montoya should be the "real" winner of the 2022 Houston Marathon. It kills me to see this repeated cheating time and time again. Keira thinks of her, selfish and could care less about being ethical, fair or considerate to her competitors. And then you might say, well she did not test positive in the drug testing. Have you heard of masking? Many of these coaches like Salazar did work with experts who know how to mask. It's time we did hair follicle testing & called out and banned these fakes. This issue is becoming huge and rampant and USATF as well as WADA does little. Nike also pays these companies off and scratches their itch so to speak so that they keep quiet and if you don't believe me then you are really naive or want to not face the real, cold truth.

Um, excuse me, but her coach worked under Salazar. That's a HUGE red flag. Salazar had ALL of his athletes doing some from of doping or TUES. 2nd, nobody improves with such jumps that fast and not when you get to running 2:22. It has nothing to do with competing year round..masking simply is employed. What enchanted castle do you live in?

It does when you are less than a mile from top elite men and way far from 2nd place in a national class event. Also if you at all associated, connected with Salazar that is the tell tale signs and her coach worked under Salazar.

Are you actually serious??? Yes she really is. They know how to play the system.

It will take awhile but she'll get popped.

A red flag to me is how she constantly promotes herself as a someone with a “full time” job when a look at her Strava data shows that she trains extensively during normal working hours. Add in commute/shower time and the lifting/drills/physical therapy appointments/etc (which she talks about in interviews) and I don’t see how it’s possible for her to work anything close to “full time” hours. Perhaps “full time” as a realtor for your mother’s brokerage doesn’t require the same amount of hours as someone working a regular 40-hr week gig, but it’s still misleading. Anything to create the ideal Cinderella story, I guess.
