What? There may be a $4 drug that is 90% effective against Covid-19, why in the hell aren't we talking about fluvoxamine?

Fluvoxamine is an SSRI developed for OCD and depression disorders. The NIH has a section on Fluvoxamine and COVID-19 treatment including the Brazil study. https://www.covid19treatmentguidelines.nih.gov/therapies/immunomodulators/fluvoxamine/ The one thing we all need to be careful of is just throwing things against the wall to see what may work for one person and doesn't for another. Even the Brazil study didn't show dramatic decreases in hospitalization compared to placebo. That's the problem when reading media reports. They leave out key factors that may not make it the greatest treatment for $4. Especially when the vaccine and booster are free. Just get vaccinated and boosted. Your risk of hospitalization is less than 1% if you are vaxxed and boosted and around 5% if vaxxed. You're 20 times more likely to be hospitalized if you are not vaxxed than if you are.

The more I think about i don't get why me thinking I may now more than the doctors is crazy.

Case in point. Two weeks ago, I took my 4 year old to the pediatrician. She knew absolutely nothing about the fact that the vaccine approval for 2-4 year olds had been pushed back from January to at least March as the testing of two shots of 3 microgams of MRNA for the little kids (adults get 30 microgram doses, kids 5 to 11 get 10 micrograms) didn't work.

I knew WAY more about the vaccine - as I'm hoping my son is eligible for it soon - than she did.

Or how about Fauci and the CDC reducing the quarantine period from 10 days to 5 but now getting nervous about the blowback and adding saying they might make you get a negative Covid test as well because scientists have been outraged that it was reduced.

Clearly, many of these people with MDs next to their names aren't exactly brilliant or following the science. They are humans like you or me who let peer pressure impact them.

Being more obsessed with vaccine rollout timelines than your MD doesn't mean you know more about treating covid, and implying so just reinforces your juvenile thought processes.

And answer me this: can you not perceive the difference between being more up to date on the latest version of an ever changing vaccine rollout timeline than one MD, and thinking you have stumbled across an effective treatment for covid that no MD in the world had considered or put into practice?

I have a few MD friends who admit they are basically force fuccked into a corner recommending vaccine, with regard to their license. You either comply with the vaccine narrative or you're a pariah among the med community.
