A word of advice: You should not contact the principle. This will be a waste of time and get you nowhere.
It may be advisable to reach out to the principal. And always remember this spelling tip: principal is your pal!!!

This fake story managed to hook just about all the sensitive right wingers.

This young man is a boy. Has been since kindergarten until this year. Apparently something has changed. I don't know what is going in the school. Is he identifying as a female and all that nonsense? So far no one in administration will discuss it.
Why does the administration need to discuss it? According to the individual, are they a boy or a girl?
This responder is obviously a troll and anyone agreeing with them or expressing similar beliefs is either a troll or a braindead PC drone. It is very sad that this is being forced on people.
Why even have races? wrote:

Should I identify as a woman so that I can be an olympic champion and make a bunch of money? I'm faster than any woman on the planet, because I am a fast male. Just like this boy is a decently fast boy, so he is faster than all of the girls. He is ruining the competition. And if competition doesn't matter because it's 7th and 8th grade, then why do they have races? Just show up to practice and don't have races if the competition doesn't matter.... But wait, it does matter. That's why the sport exists is for some competition.
That all a guy has to do run against women is to self-declare and show up at the starting line, is a common misconception on LR. There are certain conditions to be met which would be very unpleasant for a faker and to an extent where there will never be one.
No, you're not faster than any woman on the planet.
The child should not be competing in the girls race due to the competitive advantage they have. If the child wants to identify as a different gender than what they were born, then that’s fine. However, their choice should not negatively impact others. Now if the child has gone through hormone therapy, then that is a different story.

The suicide rate for LGBTQ+ children is much higher than other children, largely due to the "sane adults" you speak of not treating them with empathy and acceptance. Listen, we can debate the sports thing and it's a legitimate argument with good points on both sides. But, from a societal standpoint, adults who support and accept trans youth for who they are are not the ones causing damage.
{N}ot the ones causing damage?
Forgive me for thinking that lobbying for public funding of "treatments" including an onslaught of opposite-sex hormones, suppressors of same-sex-hormones, cutting off breasts, penises, scrotums, testicles, etc., is more damaging than not caving into a belief system based almost only on the self-identification of deeply trouble people contrary to a body, ahem, of biological counter-evidence. But at least in the post above you didn't call the un-woke people "haters" or "bigots."
Regarding suicide rates: shouldn't these be broken into pre-op and post-op rates to see just how effective the "empathy" you speak of has been?
Well, all those treatments are done involving close consultation with a doctor. So I can't really get mad about someone else exercising their freedom and bodily autonomy. Everything I've read and researched says that patients regretting their decision to transition is extremely rare.
https://www.nbcnews.com/feature/nbc-out/media-s-detransition-narrative-fueling-misconceptions-trans-advocates-say-n1102686And here's a study that suggests transitioning is linked to improved mental health:
https://fenwayhealth.org/new-study-shows-transgender-people-who-receive-gender-affirming-surgery-are-significantly-less-likely-to-experience-psychological-distress-or-suicidal-ideation/Obviously you'd want multiple studies to prove something, but I'm not gonna post 20 links here. Everyone can use google, look it up yourself.
Thinking about the details of gender transition makes me squeamish, but I think that's because my physical gender matches my gender identity. For me personally the idea of changing feels wrong, so I can't imagine how difficult it must feel for those who feel their CURRENT body is wrong.
When it comes specifically to the debate over sports participation, I tend to think that the folks opposed to Trans/DSD etc participation are right for the wrong reasons, and the folks in favor are wrong for the right reasons.

My daughter is in the 8th grade and on the middle school cross country team. This year a 7th grade boy is on the girls roster. Me and a few other parents tried discussing it with the coach and she wouldn't even let us broach the subject with her and referred us to the principle. We were told by the principle that it should not be an issue as we were talking about 7th and 8th graders and if we felt the need to take it up at the next school board meeting a week from next Tuesday. Turns out this "boy" is a pretty good runner. The first meet he ran a 12:24 2 mile. 2nd place girl came in at 14:37. He would have been 2nd in the boys race had he been in it. This is ridiculous and I'm afraid nothing will be done by our school. No one seems to care. We have yet to meet the boys parents as the coach takes him home after practice every day and they weren't at our first meet. It made me sick seeing that kid on the podium with his first place medal standing next to all the girls. The top returning girl quit the team yesterday and her mother said they were looking into private school. What the hell?! This like the twilight zone. Hopefully we'll get somewhere at the board meeting but I'm not too optimistic.
What bothers me more than your beef with this boy is your inability to correctly use Principal instead of principle.
That is all that is required in my state. Any boy can use the girls' bathroom or play a boys' sport. Any many can check the block on an entry for in a road race to run as a woman.

States don't feel comfortable imposing hormone treatments on a child, so the options available are a complete ban or allowing them to compete "as-is".
The issue in the first part of your post has been hashed out in almost every state.
The boys should all go out for the girls' team, in effect pushing all the girls out.
this would force the school to take action on behalf of the girls.
the boys, if they have any honor, should do this in defense of the girls.

If all the boys run on the girl's team wouldn't the girls then run on the boy's team? The net result would be switching locker rooms.
Regular girls wouldn't want to get demolished by boys in competition.
This whole issue wouldn't be a problem if we simply had sport (or any competitive endeavour where there is a performance advantage), between 'sexes' instead of 'genders'
Girls are allowed to have short hair too. You're just coming to the realization which most parents who were themselves failures have: your kids will never be good enough because you have them your genes. You're just coming to the realization a bit later than most. There are numerous resources out there to help with this. I'd suggest seeing a counselor. Good luck.
Maybe you can talk to the principPAL about the princiPLE of having a boy run in the girls' races.
Those that condone this are simply promoting mental illness. We are watching a generation being damaged before our eyes by these sick so called "progressives". No worries, they'll be stopped soon but not before many are hurt by their putrid ideology.
at 7th and 8th grade the difference between a male and female should be nowhere a 2 minute gap in a race of this distance . let kids be kids and stop crying and trying to live your life through your daughter. why not explain to your daughter that this is sport and sport is about inclusive not exclusive . you as a parent need a reality check and stop being a bully
It would be interesting to see the results of actual female athletes from the team. All take a stance and object to males running on their team. Males identifying as females don't belong in competition with females
