Anyone know why he would pick NAU over Michigan when he’s clearly responding historically well to Warhurst’s training and seems to love Warhurst (called him the best clean coach in the world)? Maybe it’s an academics thing but you’d think the school could make an exception for this talent if so?

Perspective is that Kessler beat every African or American or Australian who ever ran in the NCAA at 18 or 25 years old. He beat Hocker and Nuguse and Kipsang all wearing the same shoes.

Without the shoes this is more of a 3:37. He still breaks Webb’s record.
It will interesting to see if he goes pro now. What he’s doing is obviously working. Going to altitude and working with a cross country specialist coach might not be in his best interest. However if he does go to NAU they’re going to be even more sick.

1. Tim
2. Jakob
3. Everyone else
And please stop complaining about the shoes. Back in the day they had EPO, now they have great shoes, which is lots better. Just get OVER it.

Now hopefully he goes to college and continues to improve in a stress free environment. The reason I say don't go pro is because look at Drew Hunter, and Alan Webb both had pretty awful pro careers. Webb set the Mile record but under succeeded Drew Hunter has ran about as well as NAU's 8th man. I think this kid could be huge if he is not chasing money.

If they're not good at academics they will.
Anecdotal. No way they make you six seconds faster over 1500m. Stop hating.

The best thing for Kessler to do now is sign a big pro contract, move to Colorado, start a group house for sub elites, and do lots of cruise intervals.

Hobbs is better than Drew Hunter will ever be. He is better now than any collegiate ever has been. He should go pro and continue working with Warhurst and training with Willis and Ferlic because it is clearly working.
