I noticed the rare sight of a BYU 400m runner, so I was curious as to how he'd gotten to that level. Of course, he graduated high school seven years ago, typical for BYU (he was a transfer from Utah State and also went on a mission), but still it's notable that Michael Bluth, who set the BYU 400m record at 45.65 last month, and has also run 20.75 since then and thus is ready to drop his 400m time further, has also run a 1:50 800m. In high school, he had the very rare combination of 47.39 400m and 15:26 3M, presumably at altitude.

He’s certainly on the old side, but given COVID, anyone who redshirted a prior year then got extra eligibility for last year would be 24 now

USC got 5 women to qualify in the open 400m out of the West. Can't wait to see them go against Team A&M in the 4x4 (who got 3 women in the open 400 to qualify as well)
