When I was in hs, I ran 5:00 for the mile as a sophomore. I ran 50 mpw over the next summer and then ran 4:30 as a junior. That must be it, maybe he just upped his mileage?

In Spain you've gotta be 18 years old(+ some other requirements) to be able to get the Spanish Nationality, in fact, even if he had been born in Spain to Morrocan parents, he would have been Morrocan 'till 18. Spain bases nationality on Ius Sanguinis, unlike the US that is Ius Solis.
Quote: « Spain bases nationality on Ius Sanguinis, unlike the US that is Ius Solis. »
Lus Sanguinis - Nationality is based on the nationality of the parents. This is the rule in Spain.
Lus Solis - Nationality is based on where you were born, even if your parents were foreigners. this happens in the USA.
It's enough to have one parent who is Spanish to acquire nationality automatically. Not so if both parents are not Spanish. Then one has to wait to a certain age to solicit nationality. A wait of three or four or five years is totally standard (mine took nearly four).
Katir is Spanish in his behavior and way of talking.

Is this supposed to be evidence of hm being clean? Supposedly being 100% part of the biggest doping culture in Europe?
Has the title of this thread been changed from 'Katir is the most obvious doper ever?' Why?

Why are you so intent on accusing Katir of doping?
If his name was Charlie Wightman you would be praising the pure, clean spirit of British athletes.
Instead, you try to conspurcate the name of a professional athlete.
Shame on you, Coevett.

It is supposed to be an affirmation that he's Spanish, not someone who emigrated and used athletics as a gateway for money and/or fame. That's my take anyway..

so just like i thought. his fake monaco of 3:28.76 is 2-3 fast, giving him a 3:30.76-3:31.76 so he really only improved 2 seconds this season. enough with this nonsense on monaco

Yes, his putting his fingers in his ears at the end of the race last night was aimed at me, obviously. I'm the only person with doubts about this guy.
Katir - I know you're reading this in the airport lounge. Can you give me a shout out at the end of your next unbelievable performance? 'F!!! YOU COEVETT' or something? It would be funny.

Wrong.
Here is Jakob’s 1500 progression since he was 14 years old. Pretty damned consistent the last four seasons once puberty set in.

Watch these interview with him (

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FN3LCeqx3G0). His is fluent in Spanish and even his accent is on point. This can only be achieved if you have lived in a country in your formative years.
That 13:08 in crappy conditions is worth sub 13 in ideal conditions (ALL times were subpar in that meet). Even the commentators said this. He ran 54 seconds last lap as well.
It's good to see Spaniards start to rise.
You're assuming most people on LRC can actually understand Spanish lol. I can though, can confirm, guy sounds like a native Spaniard.

thats not what im saying. im saying monaco is a fake track and last year jakob did a frew 3;33s then 3:30s then the fake monaco
katir opened with a 3:33 then a fake monaco time. he is only at 3:30 so no need to freak out. yes he is saucing but you guys really need to give up on this fake monaco sh*t
At the rate of his progression, he will probably run 3:27 in Zurich after Tokyo.

Why would he hold himself back after the Olympics? With a subtle improvement of stride, not running the curves in lane 2 and 3, he is already in WR shape without any progression.

Don’t forget his synergistic torso movement. Refining that has to be worth 1-2 seconds over 1500m. The guy is beyond dialed but sky’s the limit. An unprecedented talent towering head and shoulders over elite talent.

Help me make sense of the nonsense on monaco.
Exactly how is Monaco fake? What does that mean?
How come it is only fake for the 1500m event?

There is something going on with Monaco. When you look at the fastest 1500m runs of all time, so many are in Monaco with runners setting times they cannot match elsewhere.
It could just be that the track is best suited for the 1500m distance. Some tracks are better for sprinting and others for long distance. There were rumours of it being a short track, etc.
Whilst those rumours are all interesting, they are wrong . The real reason is the track is held up by a series of pneumatic rods which tilt the track according to the lead runners position. This leads to the race effectively being ran downhill.

How does a “fake track” even make sense?
What about women’s 1500m times?

No-one cares about women's races in Monaco, so they don't bother using the system.

i think the track is short.
5000 WR, and dudes next best times are 12:50s, then only manages 3:36 in a 1500m.
almost every male is 2-3 seconds faster in monaco than the rest of their next bests at any other track. and yes you can look at the 800 and up and see the same issues. its only short in lane 1, so i have asked if anyone could look at people in the 400m who got lane 1 and see if its their PR for the season
i have no idea how many times i have to repeat the same ordeal
in 2010 monaco "resurfaced" the track and boom instantly it was fake.
