If I were Grijalva I’d rep Guatemala if I were able to. One less race I have to worry about beating a ton of other talent in. Basically a guaranteed spot in any distance he wants.

College runners beat the pros a lot you must be new here
Only B and C level pro athletes lose to collegiate athletes.
Drew's only job is to run. The college athletes have to balance school and training, they have limited resources for training and recovery, and they don't even get paid.
There is no excuse for Drew Hunter getting beat by them. His high school times were significantly faster than those 2 and they've already surpassed him.
I agree with what you're saying about Drew, but Luis and especially Cooper were also studs in high school.

Maybe he is clean and not the most talented. Maybe he is enjoying his running more than you are. Maybe he is simply not trying to please guys like you. Ever think of that?
Maybe he is simply slower than 2 collegiate runners and will fail to make the olympic team because of this?
OK so what? Running is fairly trivial in the scheme of things. Why are you worried about it?

He's not. Careed ended when we went pro out of HS. Kudos to the announcers for actually talking about it and hint at that thought.
Drew was committed to Oregon and thought he was too good so he went pro. Now he is losing to Oregon athletes. LMAO.
I honestly can't blame him because the money was very tempting, but he's gotta be kicking himself a bit.
Teare is now the fastest American collegian ever outdoors. Big things coming from him
In relation to Drew, Teare is also only running 70-80 mpw, tapering down to the low 60's (At least for the last 12 weeks) So I'm not sure mileage is the issue.

I'm sorry for worrying about running on a RUNNING FORUM.
it was a real race but in the grand scheme of Drew or any of these guys careers it's unfortunate to be in shape during this time and not have a sure chance to compete at the highest level. the point i'm making is it's not the most important thing to be in GREAT shape RIGHT NOW

It is very important if you're going for the olympic standard. When's the next 13:15 race? Do you know? Nobody does. So yes, he did peak for this race, and came up short. In COVID era, "seasons" are all out of wack.

Shouldn't Shelby lead this whole thing? I'm serious. Why in the hell is Lipari having to lead nay of this? Shelby should do these other women a favor and do ALL of the work.
Lead pack of 4. Big surprise is Dana Giordano. 909 at 3k.
why? Shelby knew that she and Cranny (her teammate) could get under the standard easily, why help everyone else and potentially hurt her other teammates who are not racing by giving them more competition at the trials next year. She doesn't owe anyone else in this field a damn thing.

It doesn’t matter where you’re worrying about it. Why are you worrying about it?

Hunter - 3:57
Teare - 4:00
Grijalva - 4:02
Pretty big differences. Hunter is about 23 months older than Teare and about 19 months older than Grijalva. There is no reason he should be losing to them except for CRAP COACHING.

What list are you looking at for this? I see 13:17 as American Collegiate record, but that's only including in-season races. Are you sure no one has run faster over the summer?

I never said I didn’t care but I am not worried about it. If Drew Hunter quit running tomorrow it makes no difference to me.
Especially w the usuals of Chelimo, Lomong, Kincaid, Mcgorty, Fisher and now Teare and Luis(idk if he’s repping the US)
And, oldie-but-goodie Ryan Hill . . .
A post above mentioned the announcer was all excited about how great the W 5k race will be at the Trials. It will be great . . . but no where near as deep as the W 1500 and now the M 5k . . .
Also, someone posted that D'Amato has withdrawn from tomorrow's fast 10k. True?

that’s true. i’d love to see him represent the US. he seems like a super likable person based off what i get from interviews ect. i’m definitely rooting for both him and cooper!
