#12 all time for Shelby, apologies. #14 for Karissa.

That was a fantastic race! Makes me real excited to watch the men run. Hopefully we can see something special there as well.
Perhaps I'm misremembering, but for record purposes, don't three entrants have to finish the race? Did someone come in third? (I wasn't watching)

What shoes were they wearing?
Houlihan is now the 12th fastest women ever and Schweizer is 14th fastest women ever at 5000m

I think two others finished through as well.
great runs from both athletes.
That said, the announcer saying Schweizer gave Houlihan "all she could handle" when reviewing the replay gave me a bit of a laugh. looks like Shelby has a few more seconds at the very least if she gets in a race where she doesn't have to pace the last 1200 meters by herself and then still win by 3 seconds.
Cranny and Frerichs both finished the race (total of four finishers)

Shelby in older Nike spikes. Karissa in the new ones.
Frerichs and Cranny jogged it for like a 15:30

Just their normal spikes I believe.
Courtney and Elise went 3rd and 4th around 15:30!

If true maybe that's why Cranny and Frerichs jogged it in
Thanks

Cranny and Frerichs paced and then gamely finished in mid-15s
Predictions for the men? Sub 13:00? Sub 12:50?
At this point does shelby run the 5,000m or 1,500m at the olympics if schedule doesn't permit a double?? arguably with her kick she has a better chance at medal in the 5,000m? Also Karissa is a legitimate medal threat now. KoKo has a similar PR and worse kick and she took bronze in Doha

Unbelievable, two women crush American 5k record and almost nobody saw it live. What a great sport we have. BTC really knows how to market this sport.
I just paid 12 bucks for the live feed. Worth it already and only halfway through the first race.
You can blame the boxing world for that - PayPerView circa 1981 - Sugar Ray Leonard.
