Evidence of black oppression? Just read before you react please

The video makes a good argument the "when adjusted for social behavior" statistic for abuse is changed quite a bit. From the very start all these people were jumping all around the police intefering. The cops would tell me. You are interfering and if you don't get away we will arrest you. It has happened. I backed way off and shut-up. If they only had the woman to deal and not all these dudes it could have been much better

I don't think that anyone believes that blacks are more predisposed to violence due to genetics? I would argue that problems like skyrocketing single motherhood, history of racism that limited previous generations from accumulating wealth, the war on poverty, and other facts is causing poverty within these inner city black communities which in turn causes more crime.

Regardless, someone else also mentioned that judges might put harsher sentences on blacks far various reasons, racist motivations or not. This is something I will look into. Thank you for being one of the few who knows how to keep their cool instead of completely losing their wits because some well intentioned white male tried to put his opinion out there to be tested.

Looks like prostitution or drug charges possibly. The people are all acting horribly for whatever it is. However if it's prostitution , even some kind of drugs it speaks to double standards.

Prostitution is legal or unenforced for a lot of people , from the oriental massage place to ashley madison. As we have seen , when middle class America is having a drug problem is seen as a social health issue not a crime. That's never been true in the hood.

We are being sold a lot of lies, to the detriment of the black community, to the detriment of the white community and to the detriment of America as a whole.

I do not support George Floyd and the media depiction of him as a martyr for black America.

In other words, not every black American is a criminal. Not every black American is committing crimes. But we are unique in that we are the only people that fight and scream and demand support and justice for the people in our community that 'are up to no good.'

For whatever reason, it has become fashionable for us to turn criminals into heroes.

It is something I find despicable.

George Floyd was not an amazing person. George Floyd is being uplifted as an amazing human being.

George Floyd was a criminal.

He has a rap sheet that is long and dangerous.

He was an example of a violent criminal his entire life – up until the very last moment.

Why are we pretending that this criminal should be upheld as a citizen and a martyr for black America?

Must we kill upstanding black citizens because a non-upstanding black citizen, a career black criminal, died.

That said, what do I propose?

No-interest/low-interest loans for families of color trying to buy their 1st or 2nd home. You can’t pass down an apartment or housing complex, but you can pass down your house. This will help families generate wealth and move up the social and economic ladder.

Free preschool and kindergarten for all students. If a student falls behind on reading before the 3rd/4th grade, they are something like 4x more likely to drop out and end up in prison. This program would pay for itself just by dropping the ridiculous amount of money it takes to house a prisoner.

Some redistribution of property tax dollars (or, ideally, an entire rebuilding of the systems that fund educational experiences) so that inner-city schools have a chance. Have you been or at least seen these schools on TV? No working water, no books from this decade, etc. It should be illegal.

Finally, affordable options for college. Out of all the changes, this would be the easiest. You’d be very surprised how many poor 12 year olds give up because they feel they don’t have academic opportunities in their future. Market our current opportunities better (we do have some), but develop them even further.

This is how you systematically change outcomes for large groups of people.

It seems like this is more about poverty than race.

I think what people are talking about with in regards to that article is a lack of the full picture.

IMagine if instead of producing a graphic for police force in Minneapolis, the NY Times produced a similar graphic for the NBA.

NBA Refs - 20%

Fouls called on by NBA refs - 80%.

The graphic would be ignoring the fact that the NBA is like well over 80% black in terms of players. The NY Times graphic is totally ignoring the percent of crimes committed by the various races.

Its the justice system that people want to change. It doesnt matter if a certain race commits more crimes, the reason they do is because they are more likely to have a poorer upbringing, coupled with people like you who scoff down at them, they are less likely to be hired, and from their its die from a lack of money, or turn to a life of crime. regardless, the justice system treats them way more harshly than white people, giving harsher sentences and less leniency on crimes. also, just because somebody is statistically more likely to do something doesnt mean that they should be brutalized. we all expect kipchoge to win the next race he runs in a wr time but if he doesnt, is everyone gonna go out of their way to attack him? some people on here will, but most everyone can excuse a bad race.

In your attack on a "fake narrative" you support the murder of a suspect in police custody. No one - whatever their record or character - deserved to die as George Floyd died. And now 4 police officers will stand trial for his killing - as they should. Your patent prejudice and attempted character assassination of Floyd fails to deflect from the key issue that has brought protests across America and around the world, which is systemic racism.

Black folks are much less likely to resist as they know they are disposable when it comes to cops.
