My sources are telling me that the investigation has shifted to the RV. Rob and the team are asserting that the RV did not have the capability to drive consistently at those slow paces. it appears that Robs legal team is seeking to discredit the RV leaving the professors to conclude that running was the only means of producing the strava legs of the transcon.

In business and politics, you release bad news late on a Friday to let the 2 day weekend diffuse the immediate effects. Maybe Skins wants to do the same.
I have no doubt the 2 profs will find RY cheated. They are not going to ruin their credibility and reputations as professional analysts by anything less than what the evidence indicates. And the evidence really is incontrovertible.

Huh? Really? Why cant it trundle along at running speed? Any vehicle can surely? Except when Dustin forgot to brake going downhill and the data revealed the TomTom was riding in there rather than on Rob -

No sponsor would get near that kind of controversy. Any legitimate company would do a google search on RY, and tell him to take a hike.
(Go on, try it. Use an incognito window and google "Robert Young marathon".)
That will NEVER go away and he will NEVER be able to pull any kind of deception again. If he were to make any kind of publicity statement, a few dozen LRers would get wind of it and shut it down.
For him to be able to make money from running again, he would have to put up some really excellent numbers at a legitimate race. But he's not that good of a runner - at best, he's better than average.

I agree. No sponsor that does any due diligence and basic research will touch him. The last race that had him headlining got inundated on their FB about why they could possibly allow him to headline their race.
I just hope this report will seal the deal beyond all reasonable doubt. The last thing we need is Robbie running (or, rather, coasting around) saying the report was inconclusive or something like that.
Needless to say I can't WAIT to read this. I know they've announced WHEN it will be released but does anyone know where?

Well, the news about RY is buried on their blog page. You have to go looking for it. They have deleted most or all RY comments on their FaceBook. I have no idea what this charity is, but they're using Wilson Kipsang and Mo Farrah to promote the race, so I'd bet most people think it is a legitimate operation. I wonder if either of them know about Rob's cheating. I would think if they did, they wouldn't allow themselves to be associated with such a fraud.

RY uploaded to a private TomTom account, then only exported selected Runs manually and initially kept them private on Strava. Sure he may have sent a few "uh-ohs" sent but many of his runs never reached strava or deleted before he switched them to public - obviously they were too dodgy.
It's tempting but there's no way I'd pay £25 for the privilege to run with RY or any other 'self proclaimed' running legend. I am tempted to run along the same route at the same time with a "RY is a Cheat" t-shirt....

We have a handful of virtual servers still down after the migration over the weekend. We are working through these machines and fixing issues which are varied.
I suspect that he was told to stop deleting/changing evidence whilst the Skins investigation was ongoing. Big revamp of the MMUK website due this weekend!
The charity seems legit. They have been around for longer than RY has been scamming. Their website shows that he has done events for them in the past - the same situation as for the other charity he was supposed to be running for recently, 'This is Epic' (in the Epic12 event in Guernsey).
Both of these charities, having met Rob in the past, seem to have been bowled over by his legendary charm and are unwilling to believe the allegations of cheating. I exchanged a couple of emails with 'This is Epic'. They were actually really nice and it was clear they care very much for the causes they are raising money for and also about putting on quality events. However, like I said, they consider Rob a friend so were reluctant to believe the allegations. On their second reply to me they seemed to be coming round to the idea it might be true, perhaps due to the sheer weight of evidence and perhaps many other people emailing them as well as me. A few days after this, they announced that Rob would no longer be appearing at their event.
I have been meaning to email The Aegis Trust (the charity behind the Run4Peace relay) but haven't got round to it. Their event is after the release of the report and anyway it looks like it won't go ahead as they have so few people signed up. Either way, chances of Rob appearing there are slim.
