Everyone can agree that Zelenskyy lying about the tragic errand missiles that Ukraine sent into Poland - knowing full well his claim wasn’t true - and then begging NATO to get involved, was a total punk biiitch move, right?
You gotta wonder if he made that decision himself out of desperation, or if the U.S. was behind this hoax / false flag attempt as well?

I mean, you could wonder that. If you are a complete f*cking moron.
NATO expansion is at the root of this conflict. Today, this is considered a fringe position. In 1989 when the Berlin Wall came down, this view was much more mainstream. People like George Kennan who understood Russian history knew the Russians would view NATO expansion as an existential threat and react accordingly. I'm amazed at the vacuousness of the talking heads on the MSM about this issue.
Here's another insightful comment from Kennan:
“War has a momentum of its own and it carries you away from all thoughtful intentions when you get into it. You know where you begin. You never know where you are going to end”
Russia is a nuclear power that actually has more nuclear warheads than the US. Like the US, Russia has a nuclear triad of land, sea and air based delivery systems. On top of that, Russia has developed hypersonic missiles and ICBMs that have significant missile defense evasion systems. Any attempt to breach Russia's territorial integrity would result in terminal nuclear war. All the combined militaries of NATO with every possible missile defense system and first strike advantage with missiles on Russia's border would not change the result of a military attack on Russia. Russia would be able to start a terminal nuclear war if attacked. NATO expansion has zero military implications for Russia's territorial integrity. And if you think NATO would dare try to invade Russia in an Iraq war style neo-con regime change conflict, just look at how deferential NATO has been to Russia up to the Ukraine war. NATO stood by while Russia slaughtered Chechens in two brutal wars. NATO let Russia act as Assad's air force in brutally putting down the revolt in Syria and even had close contacts with Russian forces for deconfliction in Syria. And even in Ukraine, NATO assistance comes with multiple strings attached to avoid any escalation with Russia (no attacks against military targets Russian or Belarussian soil, extremely limited weapons systems (no predator drones, warthogs, F class fighter jets, C class bombers, blackhawk helicopters)).
The real "existential threat" to Russia is not military. It is purely political. Putin built Russia into an authoritarian petrol state run by a close alliance of oligarchs, generals and an inner circle of Putin officials. This structure relies heavily on keeping the multi-ethnic Russian republics and former Soviet satellites (the members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Russia's version of NATO) in line in order to maintain trade relations and exploit natural resources (oil and gas and minerals). Putin knows that Russia's republics are held together with chewing gum and twine and poor economic conditions and corruption give Russia's republics the urge for independence and to turn to the west for trade. That is why Russia blew up most of Chechnya, attacked Georgia and keeps tabs on other satellite states through energy policy extortion. Ukraine, by way of Euromaidan and the Orange revolutions stood up to Russia's efforts to envelope Ukraine into Russia's sphere of influence. That is intolerable to Russia because it sets a precedent that could cause the dissolution of Russia with multiple republics declaring independence and keeping all the wealth of their natural resources to themselves. Absent NATO's protection, Russia can just go all Chechnya on any republic or CSTO member that gets out of line. Thus, if Ukraine joins NATO and see economic success and a flourishing democracy, all the other CSTO members and Russian republics will want to move in the same direction which would be an existential political threat to Russia's authoritarian oligarchy.
Without American tax dollars the war would have been over in a few weeks and Ukraine would be no worse off than it was before the war started.
We've now see what life is like in Ukraine under Russian occupation. Every time Russia retreats, it leaves behind graves and torture chambers. Only the worst kinds of traitors and fools are still welcoming Russian occupation.

That's not occupation that's how Russians wage war.
Ukrainians behave the same way as Russians. If Ukraine was in Russia the EXACT same things would be happening.
There's videos all over the web of Ukrainian soldiers torturing and abusing Russians.
There's a nice one that predates the current war of Ukrainians crucifying a bunch Russian separatists in the Donbass. You'll love it.
Ukrainians and Russians are the same people. It's like New York and New Jersey.

hey lets see some pictures of Russian cities leveled by UKR artillery.
Heck let's just see one Russian apartment block leveled by Ukrainians.

here's a set of pictures from one of Russia's recent wars of invasion - levelled entire cities. Flattening cities and killing civilians is indeed how Russia fights wars. That's the strategy. It was ok when that city was Berlin, sure.

Oh stop. The Soviet Union committed large scale atrocities and war crimes in every military action it ever participated in and the Ukrainians were right there with them.
Urban warfare is messy. Leveling apartment blocks is part of the deal. There's a reason people flee war zones.
Ukrainians and Russians are the same people. It's like New York and New Jersey.
Oh, then all of Putin's crap about having to save "ethnic Russians living in Ukraine" from Zelensky's Nazi Horde is BS if Russians and Ukrainians are the same people. Or, when given the choice between closer ties to Russia or Europe, millions of Ukrainians decided they wanted nothing to do with Russia and marched in the streets of Kyiv until their voices were heard. You have nothing insightful to add here as you are clearly uneducated about European, Russian, and Ukrainian politics, and your naive (and incorrect) statements add noise, not signal.

Let’s stipulate that Russia is killing Ukrainian civilians every day in deliberate attacks.
let’s also stipulate that there is no such reciprocal act by Ukrainians against Russian civilians.

"Ethnic Russians" is like saying "Ethnic New Yorkers" when you talk about people who live in New Jersey and work in NY...
The Maidan revolution was bought and paid for by the west.
After the government was overthrown they started persecuting the pro-Russians in Ukraine.
The war started long before you became interested in February.

Having been in urban combat I can tell you that when you take fire from a building and you return fire on that building you are shooting at the people trying to kill you not whoever else may be in the building.
Ukraine does it. Russia does it. The USA does it.
As for the atrocities, Russia has always done that and Ukrainians were right there with them.
You can't jam a stick in Russia's eye and then whine when they lash out. Morality means literally f*ck all in geopolitics. Might makes right. Period.
We were never going to shed a drop of blood for Ukraine. The war would have been over in a week if we didn't prolong it.
Ukrainians are dying every day for a proxy war no one in NATO is willing to shed a single drop of blood for.
It's gross.
Let Europe pay to kill Ukrainians. It doesn't concern the US.

Absurd
russia is sending missiles hundreds of miles into residential areas in kyiv and elsewhere. Ukrainians are good marksmen but can’t shoot back from Kiev. Civilians are not collateral damage, dead civilians are the goal. there is no equal act committed by Ukrainian s.

You are being plain evil here- reconsider.
I haven't once said I agree with their tactics or that it's a good thing.
Russia a dying nation with a crazy leader. They have nothing to lose.

So, Putin is lying or an idiot when he refers to "ethnic Russians"?
No. It wasn't. No matter how much Carmine says otherwise. Source - family that was in Kyiv during the Maidan revolution.
So, since I have family in Ukraine and I've been to Ukraine (in 2014), I'm well aware that Russia first invaded Ukraine more than 8 years ago, has been actively engaged in the war in Eastern Ukraine for the last 8 years, and has supported numerous war crimes by Russians (and Russian-backed separatists) for the last 8 years, in fact that some of them were just found guilty of murdering 298 people when they shot down a civilian airliner.

They will bleed Ukraine white.
I don't want to pay for it.
Good. Let's help Russia die quickly and relatively cheaply. Otherwise, it's going to be much more expensive to kill them off when they decide they want to "denazify" Italy for example.
