The entire point is that Tom Cotton wants to take federal funding from schools who teach an extensive curriculum in slavery in the US and you keep bringing it back to a bargain to form the initial union.
You are buying and reselling the misdirection.
Does your version of the necessary evil of slavery mean more details of slavery should not be taught in schools?

Rationalization. Things would have been different without slavery, but slavery was not necessary ever.
it's sophistry to think that we would have had a 13 colony nation in 1789 if slavery had been made illegal in all states. That's the necessity of slavery. This is undeniable and this is what Cotton meant and what every historian I've ever read has said.
INCORRECT! As I already said, this nation would have been different and had a different beginning without slavery. That does not in any way make it necessary, and Tom Cotton was wrong to say that. Just flat BS.

I’m standing up for historians who explain what was going on in 1789. I’m standing up for correct interpretations of history and not things we want to believe to make us feel better.
Cotton’s anti-1619 project should be evaluated point by point, not accepted entirely or rejected entirely.
For that matter the 1619 project should be evaluated point by point and not accepted entirely or rejected entirely.

Ok we agree. No 13 colony USA in 1789without slavery.
Done.
I think we are interpreting cotton’s statement differently.

You should be aware that: Colonies ceased to exist in 1776. In 1789 they were called states. Slavery was a non-issue in 1776. I see that someone pointed out that for the formation of the U.S.A. had a significant impact on imported slaves, and slaves being freed by their owners. That is something I personally was not aware of.

Cotton is an idiot. He didn't mean that in any grand specific historical way. Also, I don't think we really agree on anything at all on this topic. Slavery was not necessary. It is a universal evil that should never have been allowed anywhere at any time.

Trump has a dead leg issue. In the video below his lower right leg does some sweeping. He can't walk properly. He can't stand properly. He can't drink properly. It is all physically downhill from here.

He flailed that thing sideways pretty badly
Biff - here's some insight into the hydro scam brought to you by Navarro. Maybe this will help your train of thought. He's also pushing Navarro + Immanuel > Fauci

7/28 Data
all analysis: from 7 day rolling average of daily deaths.
The giant bad tsunami of virus is starting to break up and become smaller waves, varying in size.
The world is on a 4 day plateau - its long upward swing of deaths has stalled.
But the US just keeps getting worse - hitting new cyclical highs
The good news is Brazil - it has had a significant improvement in the last few days. That country's death toll is the lowest since early July.
In fact, if you look at the world ex-Brazil...that measure is getting worse. So the 'world's' improvement is really just a good week from Brazil. Oh well.
The problem states in the US aren't moving as one anymore.
FL: all time highs
CA: all time highs
AZ: uneven data but seems to be improving.
TX: Starting to form a plateau.
Add all 4 problem states into one superstate of death and its 7 day average is still making new all time highs, but only 14% higher than a week ago. That number has been falling toward 0. It should go negative in a couple weeks.

the boys and girls at the Lincoln Project are not pleased with the good senator.
https://twitter.com/ProjectLincoln/status/1288430111373524994?s=20I’m surprised the people of the Lincoln Project want Susan Collins gone.
I thought they were Republicans against Trump.
Why would they want a Democrat to replace Collins in Maine?
Don’t they want conservative votes without the ugliness of Trump’s leadership?
Or are they straight up supporting all Democrats now?

They are first and foremost anti Trump, so their tactics will include taking down those who prop him up.

they are straight up supporting all dems now. They've said that the GOP as it has become over the last 3 years should not survive. They have several ads directed against the Rs supporting trump, even if they used to be regular GOPers.

It's great - they want to get rid of the poison, which includes the trump enablers. They want their party back and are pressuring republicans to take sides.
Betting odds in Maine are more than 2:1 that the Dem will win the senate seat.

Plus they can't get rid of trump with politicians offering endless excuses for him and trying to play down how dangerous he is.
