I agree that generally it isn't, but when you are a self-righteous conservative like Jason Miller, or others who condemn that kind of behavior, it makes it newsworthy. Hypocrisy from politicians and political operatives is fair game.

Ernest Hemingway wrote on average at a 5th grade level and won a Nobel Prize in Literature. In fact, you'll find quite a few famous authors in the 5th-7th grade range (Thomas Pynchon apparently is right at a 7th grade level which surprised me).
A higher score would only only indicate someone mostly talks in highly technical jargon that requires specialized education to comprehend and that would be almost as useless as the usual stuff Trump says. I'd rather not have a president that just recites the Affordable Care Act (which I believe scored a notorious 15th grade level or something like that).
In actuality a score higher than 4.5 would indicate someone who mostly talks at least at a middle school level.
Of the presidents in this list Trump is the biggest outlier and it's not like Reagan was ever accused of talking over anybody's head.
07/21 Data
When trends start with this disease they go for a long time.
Pretty much all the trends I'm looking at are going the wrong way, have been going the wrong way for many weeks and don't show signs of changing.
All 7 day rolling average of daily deaths.
World: New cyclical high, worst since May 8.
US: New cyclical high, worst since June 9
FL: Worst ever
AZ: Worst ever
TX: 2nd worst ever
CA: Seems to be plateauing. Would be interesting if the one blue problem state is able to fix this before the red states.
Add the four problem states together and the rolling 7 day average is a an new all time worst, up around 24% over ONE WEEK AGO.
If I have time I'll build a 7 day average for GA...they had a very bad day yesterday.

Please provide a list of states in which one's family is not permitted to attend church.

Have to say, if this warp speed thing works and 100 million people are vaccinated in December or January, it will be one of the great science feats of all time. Up with Apollo and the internet.
Just nitpicking, but the moon landing and the internet were more feats of engineering than of science.
But it's relevant because if we do get a successful vaccine program it will depend on a lot more than great feats of science or great feats of engineering.
Rapid production at scale will require a great feat of manufacturing.
But the ones that have me really concerned is the great feats of distribution and feats of public relations.
I wonder if the Trump administration is even working on the distribution problem at all. We haven't heard much about it and they have proven to be so lazy and incompetent that I'm afraid that the real planning won't even begin until several weeks into the Biden administration.
As for public relations, we will need to convince people that the vaccine is both safe and effective. That may be the toughest feat of them all.

The U.S. announces a nearly $2 billion contract for 600 million doses of a coronavirus vaccine.
The Trump administration on Wednesday announced a nearly $2 billion contract with the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer and a smaller German biotechnology company for up to 600 million doses of a Covid-19 vaccine, with the companies on track to manufacture the first 100 million doses by December.
Under the arrangement, the federal government would obtain the first 100 million doses for $1.95 billion, with the rights to acquire up to 500 million more. Americans would receive the vaccine for free. Before it could be distributed, it would first need at least emergency approval by the Food and Drug Administration.
Large-scale safety trials are to begin this month, with regulatory review set for as early as October.
“Depending on success in clinical trials, today’s agreement will enable the delivery of approximately 100 million doses of vaccine being developed by Pfizer and BioNTech,” Alex M. Azar II, the health secretary, said in a statement announcing the deal.

Me neither but the religious right seems to think it is so he's subject to being called out on it.

I don't get how Gaetz gets elected. Admittedly I don't know who his opponents have been but, if he walked down the hallways of the HS I went to with that mug, he'd have had the snot kicked out of him every day and it would have been by those likely more conservative in views. At some point, the "wiseasses" of the world shifted from the left to the right and make up a good portion of Trump's base. Those in Nixon or Reagan's camp never would have sided with Trump.

A good speaker can adjust to the level of his/her audience. People like Clinton or Obama are capable of speaking at a much higher level of education, but Trump is one speed for all audiences.

He comes from a Republican political family in the panhandle - he basically ran on his name. And incumbents very rarely lose elections in ruby red districts like his. It's a R+22 district.

It’s not a possibility. All we are seeing is the US govt getting in front of the line committing to buy something that hasn’t materialized and won’t for many months after FDA approval. If a vaccine is out by end of year, Americans will start to have broad access closer to next summer.

I'm no expert, but I think you are mistaken.
The Oxford vaccine is going to widespread trials something like next week...they're ramming these things through.
Not sure how well Pfizer is doing with theirs.
I'd be surprised if widespread innoculations are not taking place by Feb or March.
