Also if anthony fast horse didn't red shirt he would be oregon #5 in his first xc race. They both are already showing that they are among the most valuable recruits during their first xc race.
This course was much, much slower than last year. Barely any kids pr'd and were usually 10-30 seconds behind their pr. The course was really windy for most of the morning, also kicking up a lot of dust, and the course was very loose and gravelly compared to last year. Still seems like it was a fun course, but this clearly wasn't the pr course it was last year. As for the actual results, I'm surprised by trabuco hills on the boys and girls sides, the boys really showed up today to get 2nd against other competitive teams after being ranked much lower and the girls team beat the jserra favorites, although it wasn't very surprising considering the team's great performance at central park with similar competition.

Similar to Clovis, JSerra was without Morales again, and their preseason #4 and #5 were there #1 and #3. Newman's transfer has really worked out, getting MUCH better XC results than he had before. If their big 3 can come close to the promise they showed last track season, they would have a big 4 and a 5th good enough to make them competitive for the #2 NXN auto-bid. But "if"s don't count, they have to put it all together at the right time.
One of the most talented california runners that we ever had, Manny Perez?
WTF....Ever....
I mean... its not crazy to say.
He 14:00 INDOORS during the winter, anchoring his schools DMR to a 10:01 the next day with a 4:06 anchor leg. Despite several injury setbacks during the track season he still runs 8:40 at Arcadia, and 4:06 leading up to the state meet. He would have run very, very, very fast had he not gotten injured last year.
But yeah, 14:00 indoors is nuts. #3 CA all time I think.

Morales due back for CIF Finals. If healthy and ready, JSerra will be players.

I would not put Los Altos up there for CCS. They placed 14th at Clovis, while St. Francis placed 5th.
However, they are certainly a top 3 team in the section right now.
I think you got it mistaken my guy. Monte Vista and San Ramon Valley are North Coast Section (same section guys like Caldwell and Sagiraju are from). Northern Section is schools like Chico and Pleasant Valley.
