That is absolutely untrue. You are repeating lies and excuses that have no merit. Germans were well aware of the treatment and genocide of Jews in the 30s and 40s. They voted for it, fully engaged in it, geared every aspect of their society to it (even at the cost of their world war effort), and celebrated it. There was no attempt at hiding what was going on and no atavistic sense of morality playing out anywhere in Germany. Even the alleged post-Holocaust shame is a lie. If it even existed, it lasted maybe a month after V-E day.

but the more interesting point is how brazenly murderous Hamas is. Very very few groups actively go shoot 1000 civilians and then brag about it, knowing your people will cheer for it. On Day 1 of the mission to destroy Gaza, Israel destroyed everything in the ten block Al-Furqan area, including a mosque, a university, two banks, and anything and anyone that was breathing. The neighborhood is effectively gone. Reduced to rubble. Uninhabitable. Imagine where terrorists will be on Day 30 of Operation No Restraint?

The people who think the Palestinians have legitimate grievances are doing a disservice if they don't do clear throated condemnation of Hamas tactics and goals.
It is too easy to lump all Palestinians to Hamas when people try to dismiss or excuse Hamas brazen attack on Israel citizens. It is too easy for Israel and its supporters to circle the wagon and then say there is never going to be hope for peace if Palestinians and their supporters don't clearly denounce attacks like Hamas just did. Israel will prioritize security over much of anything else if they feel under siege.
I support the Palestinians to have their own homeland. I support Israel being the homeland for the Jewish people. That is the best hope for peace.

There is little hope for peace with the current leadership on either side.
Jewish Israelis are not going to leave. They are not going to go along with any plan where they become a minority in their own state. Palestinians are not going to give up on their goal to have their own state. No matter how much either side suffers they are not going to give up on their idea of have having a homeland and having rights of self determination.
The right wing and most religious Israels are willing to give up on being a liberal democratic state for land. Some of the most religious care more about land than Israel's best interests. Their religious book have priority over Israel laws. They are a problem.
Any support to Hamas is a problem. They don't help Palestinians' interest who want a Palestinian state that peacefully co-exists with Israel. Hamas has a history of creating a veto on negotiations with a bomb veto in the past. They are a big problem.
