yup, and the 51 "intelligence" experts decided the laptop looked like Russian disinformation without seeing it too.....
FYI the laptop is compromised. There's no evidence who did the compromising, but the idea that some of the data on the laptop is fake is pretty indisputable. Being careful has proven to be the right call. Despite what the 'conservatives' yell and scream about. Feds and press were right to be cautious.
Wikipedia:
n March 2022, The Washington Post published the findings of two forensic information analysts it had retained to examine 217 gigabytes of data provided to the paper on a hard drive by Republican activist Jack Maxey, who represented that its contents came from the laptop. One of the analysts characterized the data as a "disaster" from a forensics standpoint. The analysts found that people other than Hunter Biden had repeatedly accessed and copied data for nearly three years; they also found evidence that people other than Hunter Biden had accessed and written files to the drive, both before and after the New York Post story.[2] In September 2020, someone created six new folders on the drive, including with the names "Biden Burism", "Big Guy File", "Salacious Pics Package" and "Hunter. Burisma Documents". One of the analysts found evidence someone may have accessed the drive contents from a West Coast location days after The New York Post published their stories about the laptop.[2]
This is idiotic. Even Hunter Biden admits the e-mails are legitimate. The recipients of the e-mails admit the e-mails are legitimate.
The FBI had the physical laptop in 2019.
They sat on it and actively suppressed the story to help their preferred candidate.

This is banana republic level corruption.
The FBI is traditionally a conservative institution. Thinking otherwise is foolish.
The shameless weaponization of the justice system to attack your political opponents should embarrass anyone.
If it's so easily "weaponized' how come Trump failed to use it to attack his political opponents? He's shameless enough - as cheating on his wife and paying pornstars shows - not to mention the 30,000 or so lies - and he sure hates his political opponents. It looks like the justice system isn't so easily weaponized. But it does go after criminals.

I guess it depends on who you believe - and which version of the laptop you look at.
"Data from a laptop that the lawyer for a Delaware computer repair shop owner says was left by Hunter Biden in 2019 – and which the shop owner later provided to the FBI under subpoena – shows no evidence of tampering or fabrication, according to an independent review commissioned by CBS News.
Brian Della Rocca, the lawyer for the shop owner, provided to CBS News what he called an "exact copy" of the laptop data provided to federal investigators nearly three years ago. Della Rocca said he considers it "clean" because it predates versions that were widely circulated by Republican operatives to attack then-candidate Joe Biden before the 2020 presidential election. The independent analysis, by two cyber investigators from Minneapolis-based Computer Forensics Services, found no evidence that the user data had been modified, fabricated or tampered with. Nor did it find any new files originating after April 2019, when store records indicate Biden dropped it off for repair."
I'll trust the WaPo over 'computer forensics services' every day and twice on Sunday. Should at least raise a red flag for those thinking about the laptop.
But could be a timing issue here...maybe what was true in 2019 wasn't true in 2020, for ex.

Trump worked very hard at weaponizing the Executive Branch against his foes. Trump's Chief of Staff says it was a regular occurrence. Trump has the attention span of toddler so some of the attempts often failed, thank goodness.

Because he didn't try because he's not as corrupt as the typical Democrat.
His current wife was a homewrecker to his old wife. She knew what she signed up for.
It is baffling that the party which hates religion is pretending to be so hung up on infidelity. Particularly when you nominated the cuckolded wife of a literal rapist as your nominee in 2016.

right back atchoo
but seriously, why in the world would you trust some anonymous forensics firm vs the Washington Post? To me that makes no sense. The Post has decades of journalistic standards behind it. this firm has...not a heck of a lot. Odds slant to WaPo.
But I'm not a tech guy - I'm sure I don't know what I don't know and there are complications.

Trump repeatedly lied, repeatedly falsified business records and falsified campaign funding records, and possibly tax records too in order to hide his sexual cheating from the public before his election. All these payments to silence people came right after his infamous, "I can grab them by the p#ssy" comment. All this was just before the 2016 election and Trump feared if people found out about his cheating on Melania right after they heard his grab them by the p#ssy comment they would know he was truly a slime ball and it might cost him the election.
He broke laws to get elected and if he didn't break laws he might not have gotten elected. (The election was that close.) So this is kind of a big deal.
(On a side note maybe this is vindication for flagpole)
Normally Trump has been outrageously saved by elected Republicans and appointed sycophants when faced potential legal problems. They can't save him here. They might save him in Georgia, but not here.
What I have bolded in your comment above is the correct sentiment; HOWEVER, I never think of it that way. I think of things in terms of right and wrong. Was I RIGHT to say that Trump was going to face criminal charges? YES. Was I right to say Muller is coming (to the tune of 34 felony charges...because that investigation came about from Mueller's investigation and handed off)? YES. Am I surprised by either thing? NO. Is the clown done? YES.
Now, the above all said, there is a very good chance that WHEN TRUMP IS FOUND GUILTY IN NY (because he will be), he will not have to spend time in prison. It's a shame really, and it is a slap in the face to Michael Cohen who DID spend time in prison for those same crimes that he committed at Trump's direction.
Why will Trump likely not spend time in prison over the NY stuff?:
1) Technically he is a "first time" offender. Same with Cohen, but read on to explain that.
2) The felonies are Class E felonies which have a sentencing guideline of 0-4 years in prison. I'm not quite sure how that is, as a felony typically defines a crime that gets a year or more in prison, but perhaps it is the range that matters there. The point here is that ZERO (0) time in prison is part of the sentencing guidelines. Trump's first offense, so he really might skate on prison time. We will see though. 34 counts is a LOT, so maybe some sort of prison or home confinement will happen. That will delight me if so (and he DOES deserve prison), but I think the chances are slim. Trump supporters like to imagine that he couldn't possibly go to prison due to security issues...well, that's BS. There are prisons in this country that are primarily for snitches who need to be protected, and those facilities are small and could be emptied while Trump would serve time there. Also, of course, home confinement is an option.
3) So, why Cohen in prison and maybe not Trump? Cohen pleaded guilty, and he did so because he was told if he didn't, his wife was going to be charged and potentially sent to prison...so, whether or not that was BS, Cohen decided to come clean and confess to protect his wife. MAYBE Cohen could have fought it and avoided prison? Who knows?
4) What will be somewhat hilarious is all the Trumpers who will scream victory when Trump likely doesn't have to go to prison over the NY stuff but then they meet the harsh reality when Trump WILL be imprisoned for his other crimes with which he has yet to be charged. Oh, also, someone here will claim that I said Trump was going to go to prison for the NY stuff, and when they do, I will call them a fool and link to this post.
Sad that you cant even be honest with yourself, but not as sad that as a country we look at these types of white collar crimes and think they are somehow victimless and dont deserve to be prosecuted.
But even more depressing is the fact that you and the OrangeTurd faithful expect SO LITTLE from a candidate and are willing to justify anything he does as long as it bothers the other side. In short you are pathetic and a support an even more pathetic human.
What am I being dishonest about?
Trump's policies were better for America than Biden's.
Biden is a crook.
If I have to choose between 2 crooks I'm going to go with the crook with better policies.
You support infanticide, open borders, high taxes, class warfare, racial division, drag shows for toddlers, and the genital mutilation of children and I'm the one that's pathetic. LOL!
