Petros will be heading to Florida to direct a professional training group. Not cut out for the recruiting grind and all the other requirements of a collegiate coaching gig.

Interesting. If so, then where are his athletes planning to go? The ones in the portal?
C'mon everybody this thread is way too slow for prelim weekend. Let's get down and dirty on the job rumors. Who is on their way out? Who is retiring?
There are 3 major throws jobs open with another 3 speculated and nothing. Agree it’s oddly quiet.
Nope. Does not happen all the time.

only quiet on the outside.
I’m talking about letsrun being quiet

No. It does. Sorry yours didn't support your team.

You do realize the regional meet is this week right? Of course they aren’t going to “officially” let her go before the end of the season unless it’s for misconduct—they still need someone to coach distance. And just because she’s being let go doesn’t mean she would stop supporting her athletes on Twitter. You can speculate, but you will be proven wrong.
I realize you're on letsrun, so reading comprehension isn't your strong suit. So lets recap.
Nothing "OFFICIAL" has happened here. /Done
All of this is literally AGITPROP and may very well be for nothing. My evidence, Mizzou and Brett Halter.
Show me even a social media post that suggests this, or GTFO... Because next week you'll be like, "you do realize the national meet is next week right?" Then it will be "you do realize the trials are soon, right?" and "you do realize their camps are soon, right?"
I'm not excluding the idea that this might happen, but until someone unburies something suggesting any of this, talking about this as though it's proven fact has played very poorly here in the past.
And I'll give heave to one more idea. The Petros is leaving concept has been here for a few months, and it was true. But it was easier to believe because it was just "Petros is leaving", end of story. In LR's hivemind, Duke has decided to blow up the staff that just won ACCs, has already literally hired everyone they want, all in the course of 6 days? This fails the simple test of Occam's Razor. I suppose it's technically possible, but it seems wildly implausible.
Indeed it's happening. Think less of it as "blowing up the staff that just won ACCs" as Shawn Wilbourn clearing house of those he didn't like. In his mind they won accs not because of rhonda's coaching but in spite of it. They had beef. both wanted HC job. Got to think she'll be able to get a good job somewhere else though.
And to your second point, although it seems like it all happened it six days, rhonda I'm sure was let known of her impending firing weeks ago, hiring process has been going on since then.
Somebody spill the beans on Van Hoy. I know it’s a constant running joke on here, but I just overheard Erdman from EKU talking to him saying “Congrats, I heard the news.”

He's pregnant.
Peterson hopefully! His athletes can't stand him!

I’ve heard that also

Ditto. That program desperately needs a coaching change. Any info on who his replacement might be?

Athletic Directors do not go to XC and Track Meets and they are not going to go to a meet and talk to coaches about an opening they have at their school. Pretty much unethical and in most conferences illegal.
You clearly. Don’t get to the ncaa finals often enough, last outdoor season. Every major head coaching job that was open had the Head ADs at the meet. Texas. UGA. Kentucky. USC. Florida. Oregon Texas AM. LSU. Etc. all there to make hires. Or make sure their current Head Coaches would not jump ship.
What’s the deal with Michigan? Are they really going to make a change or retain their average track leadership

This. It was purely personal. Penn State’s distance team hasn’t been good so it’s not like they are upgrading based on results. Wilbourn doesn’t care about xc and wants a distance coach that will bend to his will.
Interesting choice on Peterson’s part. Heard she got the boot at Arizona
