Anyone know what George James is up to? 31 year old Brit who ran 2:10 mara for team GB last year. Can’t find his instagram but I saw something that he’s sponsored by adidas now. Very talented runner

FWIW I ended up beating my PR from 2018, with a 235. Didn't crack 230 and that was disappointing, but had some of the most consistent and high volume running I've had in the last ten years, with a lot of good learnings. Also had a ton of fun moving away from the standard speed w/o, strength w/o, + long run weekly training I've done for 10+ years.
I'm not eager to jump into another Eyestone program anytime soon, but it was a good jumping off point for me to get back into running.
For anyone interested, I'm targeting my old 5k/10k PRs, copying Jakob Ingebrigtsen. I'll be doing a 8-10 week base easing into double T, so it'll also help for another fall/winter marathon after this cycle. You can see the log/training plan here:
I also had a lactate testing session today, so eager to jump into this training with real values and proxies for LT1/LT2. I'll be reviewing those in the next episode, but you can see the initial chart/results here:
I know Donato spams this sub (lol) and out of curiosity checked him out. This guy actually is quick! 64 years old and ran 1:29 half this fall. One of the funnier things is he wears a bunch of (the original, the one) SJD apparel. Seems like a nice bloke
100% not a trust funder. Where he is from is not wealthy nor expensive to stay. Proper down to earth guy - hopefully he can gain fastest ginger YouTuber title!
I like Ryan, seems a nice lad but there's no way I'm supporting him over Jake RTJ for fastest ginger youtuber. Jakes channel is at least 7 times more entertaining than Ryans
Jake gets the balance right with not too much b reel. I skip so much of Thompson a to get to the running. I’m so sick of seeing people make coffee 😂

Brett & Andy slagging off the Norwegian Singles Approach on their latest podcast! Also calling it the new trendy way of thinking.
Hope SirPoc wasn’t listening!
Not sure NSA is that trendy tbh. The proper instagrammy, beautiful looking, influencer, type runners like Fenton, Fashion Jogger, Donato, Gabriel, DentalAthlete, Runna crew don’t use it. That’s for sure.
Which Brett and Andy? Brett Robinson?
edit: saw someone posted a clip, had never heard of them

Is he currently faster than RTJ?
5k-10k Ryan is significantly quicker but Jake has ran a faster marathon. Not sure about the half, probably much of a muchness if I had to guess.
I sometimes hate-listen to this podcast on long-runs. Brett is infuriatingly misinformed at times, and imparts his wisdom onto Andy who really neither knows nor cares about any of the technical aspects of running. I listened to this one the other day and if I recall correctly, Brett cites Sirpocs "2:34" marathon as proof that Norwegian singles works, but he just hates "rules".
thanks for sharing - pretty balanced from them and they were more "NSA isnt for me because I'd get bored" which is absolutly fair enough. Everyone can train in the way that suits them and their time in a week.

🥇1st lady at 10k Battersea Park ⚡️ worth the bicarb, wind and rain. Will I regret the 4pm coffee? Who knows. A good tempo effort. Hard to find another gear in the evening when I am normally in bed lol. Another block in the...
At least she shows her heart rate. A lot of the influencers hide their heart rate because they run their easy runs too fast to appease clueless n00bs and appear l337.
Alfie Manthorpe got asked on his instagram story yesterday when his marathon debut is, and he put the eyes emoji with a countdown that ended on 26th April, so looks like he's running London. Elite or champs? He ran quicker than Alex Yee at the Valencia half...
He said on a podcast months ago that he was debuting in Seville in February, unless he's now pivoted to London. Seville will be interesting anyway, with Ellis Cross also debuting. If he's doing London then his half time would definitely get him elite start.
