I've been saying for a long time that Tiny was afraid to debate Biden and thus no debates would happen.

A few weeks ago, I changed my mind. I had no idea that Tiny would get so far behind. So I've gone from "No way he debates" to "He might be forced to debate because it's his only chance to change the narrative".

Yeah but you see how they are panicking - trying to strike deals with the commission to give trump a nice advantage. Unless he has some hidden Putin card or poll momentum starts to shift his way he’s not going to debate Biden. And if the lists lists start to publicly peel off by Nov then it’s really game over.

Biden is sitting on a big fat lead and simply has to not say any stupid things from now until Nov 3.

Trump wants debates in hopes Biden will slip.

By the way, Hillary there said Trump will try to break up NATO and he did try to threaten to leave it and/or add Russia to the G7. He also defended Putin as president and took his word over US intelligence.

Well gents, the world keeps getting worse.

7 day rolling average of daily deaths is rising fairly relentlessly now.

6/18: 4,641

6/11: 4,364

5/18 : 4,617

The high was in mid April: 6,658

Hard to pick out the nations most responsible. Certainly Mexico. That nation is up to 800 deaths per day. Brazil is bad but not getting any worse. Otherwise I think it's just a general upswing.

Mexico moved to 24th worst, per capita. Was 34th worst 3 weeks ago.

The nation typically with the third most daily deaths, the US, continued its rapid improvement.

5/18: 1,400

Still no big surge in deaths in the Southern and Western states that have surging case loads. That's good news.

There must be another big outbreak in the fall... I suspect

Brazil's reporting has been hijacked by their president so I'd bet it's getting worse.

This. "Populist" presidents and other political executives have found that high death tolls are not, well, popular--so they do what they can to stymie the reporting of totals.

You know, given that they're not willing to do much substantive about the disease itself.

It's *great* news and I would love it if not another person died from COVID-19.

Flattening the curve a couple months ago gave the medical people time to find out more about how to treat the diseasse, and we seem to be seeing fewer fatalities (per X number of people infected) as a result. Now if we can just get everyone to wear a mask and not infect others, we'll see real progress!

Brazil is a total cluster f. The president is still in genuine denial about the virus and states are in total panic. The attitude of the president has extended to the masses believing the virus is still a hoax while everyone is perishing. There is no financial relief so people are out in the streets protesting every week wanting to work and most governors are caving in to the demands. This is what happens when there is no leadership.

Densely populated cities are going to get hit hard again because there is no way around the need to take public transport, namely trains and subways. NYC schools are probably going to reopen in September which will generate a ton of commuting traffic even if a lot of parents are working from home.

Yes, "toddler" was misspelled as "todler".

The headline changes to "Probably a Trump voter"

He is falsely depicting a CNN story. It is completely fake. CNN did not call a racist baby a Trump voter.

But Trump likes to spread lies.

No sane or serious presidential candidate would make a tweet like that.

In Trump's video they did hug at the end.

His "point" was CNN showed a video of the white toddler chasing the black one with a "racist todler" headline, while the two really hugged.

The truth is CNN never had a racist todler headline and originally put out the feel good story of them hugging.

Trump's people made up a 100% fake story and put it out like it really happened. And his followers believe all of that.

They won't see the correction. They will tell each other that CNN made more fake news.

I'm curious what the process is for how Trump selects the stuff he retweets or videos he attaches to a tweet. I guess someone on his staff gathers tweets and videos they think he might like.

The toddler video is obviously a fake as it contains a misspelling in the chyron and the premise is ludicrous. Did his staff think it was true and gave it to Trump, anyway, or was it meant to be a joke that Trump was in on.

Trump doesn’t have a plan here, he’s never had a functional plan to deal with this.
