I hate to break it to you, but putting more troops on the ground in this situation INCREASES the risk of american deaths. Mass number of civilians will gather at the closest spot they can to try to leave the country. Big risk. Say we secure a big area around the airport. That takes a lot more troops to maintain, troops who will remain exposed to attacks. Meanwhile, American civilians are mostly NOT at the airport, so that doesn't make any damn sense. Efforts should continue around identifying the whereabouts of americans in the area and helping them get to the airport. And this is exactly what we have been doing, and quite successfully over the last couple of weeks.
I'm jumping in early with this comment, but rest assured before mid-September most Americans will have already moved on from these news. There was trump drama almost every day for 4 years, and the country moved on to other news almost every day. We forget quickly. Not saying that is good, but it's the reality. I hope we don't forget enough that we dive into another conflict anytime soon.

I welcomed the election of Biden. Where Trump failed in being so devisive I hoped Biden would “lower the temperature” and bring greater unity. However he has done the exact opposite and on top of that has been completely incompetent as commander in chief. He should resign. Harris most likely won’t be much better but can it really get any worse.
