Bear in mind. The President with a majority conservative SC, containing two of his own appointees - failed to defer DACA due to amateurism.

This is no victory for Trump at all.

Add it to the list of broken promises:

Hillary locked up

Obamacare repealed and replaced

Build the wall

Mexico paying for it

Clear the deficit

Law and order

He just appears weaker and weaker by the day. Those oppose him still do, maybe some you supported him grudgingly see this as another failure. I don’t see how he benefits from another defeat.

I for one support Gaetz coming out, maybe they should adopt a child.

I was around a generation ago and two guys well out of college living together, was unusual and people would have suspected them of being gay.

Biden was OK during the Democrat debates so I don't see the magical moment of dementia that the Trump campaign people are hoping for.

Trump is not a good debator and would get an F in a college debate. He goes on tangents that make you forget what the question was, talks over his opponents and will try to blame Biden for anything negative that happened during the Obama presidency or even over the last 40 years. He'll probably take some shots at Hunter Biden as well.

One debate would be plenty and having four is ridiculous. It would be like watching 4 Trump rallies.

The problem will be when trump attacks and lies and misrepresents Biden’s record. I do think joe will get flustered at those moments and that could hurt.

Looks like Amy McGrath won’t even win the Dem primary to go against Mitch.

Agent orange's arguments are:

1. Early mail-in ballots due to COVID hurts trump, so an early debate would help mess this up

2. Both sides should pick moderators because the ones selected by the commission will be partisan (aka will call out trump's stupidity)

3. No debates on same day as NFL games b/c he needs those white males rooting for him

Trump was suggesting early this year that he wouldn't debate. It sounds to me like his people are trying to convince him that he needs to but he's bellyaching and refusing, so this would be the compromise. I think most likely they are just setting up for him not to show and they could say the debates were going to be unfair and the commission was unwilling to work with him.

There is a ridiculously telling strategy and attitude here... they are basically agreeing that trump is in trouble and that he has been burying himself slowly by failing at playing president. They think ANY change will help, so in case by the third debate trump's position doesn't improve then they might get lucky with the 4th??? LOL. It's insanity - he's just destroying himself and he's upset that no one is getting in the way.

And for anyone who thinks trump is going to show up and bulldoze Biden, you're nuts. Remember how visibly nervous he was when he debated HRC? He got damn lucky she was annoyingly cordial and he survived 3 rounds with her. He hasn't had a public challenge in 3 years, and is only used to the applause of mouth breathers at his rally. Now he will have to go in there 10%+ in the hole with the massive baggage of a failed term knowing that almost 60% of the country is solidly behind his opponent, and he will have absolutely nothing to offer those people.

Joe won't have to be coherent, he won't have to be sharp, he won't have to have solid answers... he has to simply show up, look confident, speak directly and passionately to the american people and pretend trump is not even there, b/c in fact we have had no leader since Obama. In his opening statement, he should start with a summary of the economic picture, comparing 2016 to now. He should give an update on our foreign relations, the national debt, and domestic issues. Trump is going to ramble, trip, complain and no one expects anything else. And when he inevitably attacks Biden personally with some lie, Biden can simply point to how clean his record was with Obama and compare that to some stats under trump (the nepotism, criminality, impeachment, grifting, endless list...).

Trumpers registering as Dems to vote in the person they fell is the weaker candidate? Mitch has a harder time attacking a combat veteran. Against a black guy he doesn't have to do anything. His shills will handle the negative attack ads, and fear mongering (100% defunding the police, a progressive lefty supported by Sanders and AOC!! and the rest of the Squad!).
