Invocation of the 25th amendment can be nearly immediate if everyone is in the same corner however I agree that it would be unlikely in this type of situation. Trump could simply make it another Presidential trip and go wherever he wishes. It would be a great way of avoiding the inauguration and, in fact, not acknowledging that his Presidency is over. His idiot followers will eat it up before they realize that it is over.

Ah, but not Der Biffter. A meme has to be reposted again and again, regardless of inappropriateness to the topic currently at hand. First, getting a "good" meme is hard work, and RFH has to get his money's worth. Second, if posting the meme makes Rigged look like an idiot because it actually works against what he's trying to say, he *doubly* needs to repost, because

a) it's attention, and for him all attention is good;

b) if you repost often enough, the meme switches from being a liability to an asset (he *thinks*).

I am not wrong. You can suspect. That is why people recommend someone go get evaluated, but you can not tell that this woman is mentally ill. Some people are just a$$holes. Some people just snap when they are angry. We have countless examples of that with famous people who were just entitled and got angry. You are not even a doctor. You can suspect, but you can not diagnose her. Even I would not do that as I am an Oncologist not a Psychiatrist. Yes, Pence could pardon Trump for any federal crime, and he can do it blanket style like Ford did for Nixon, meaning he can pardon him for crimes he hasn't even been charged with yet. I'm sure there's some restrictions there, but that's what Ford did for Nixon.

If Trump resigned, he would get Pence's assurance that he would pardon him first. Pence is likely in need of a pardon too, so the tit for tat is Trump pardon's Pence and then Pence pardons Trump. Would be a lasting example of how corrupt this administration is.

I will be shocked if Trump leaves the country to escape justice.

But that's not the question, really, is it? Memes that are apropos are fine, and often funny--and you, in particular, have posted some funny ones. Credit where it's due.

Memes that are weirdly "off"--don't support the point the poster is trying to make, don't relate to what's being discussed, are doctored or simply inaccurate--tend to get called out around here, regardless of the political persuasion of the poster.

For one example, just a page or two back "p.n."--who seems to be of a liberal or libertarian bent--called out a photo, presumably posted by a lib, that s/he said had been doctored.

I think if Trump fled the country while still in office, something would be done, and quickly. I'm not sure what the path would be, but Trump would not remain President for long at all.

Technically, it could be swift. But in reality, the whole thing would get quite messy.

Let's say Tiny takes his trip to Turkey seven days before inauguration. He doesn't announce that he's doing this to avoid prosecution and he certainly doesn't declare that he is abdicating the presidency.

To remove him with the 25th amendment, you would have to get the vice president and 13 cabinet members to go along with removal and sign the document. That's not something that's easy to do.

And there would undoubtedly be a court challenge. The 25th amendment says that it can only be invoked when the president "is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office". The supreme court would probably need to rule if that is the case.

We can disagree on this, but I just don't see it happening quickly.

I'm surprised nobody has brought this up yet.

In Atlanta two nights ago, a black man was shot and killed by a white police officer.

The short version of it is that the man was being arrested for DUI. When they started to cuff him he wriggled out. Two white officers and the black suspect wrestled on the ground and the suspect grabbed a cop's taser and fled. As he was running away, the suspect tried to shoot one officer with the taser. The suspect continued to run away. At that point, the other officer fired his gun and killed the suspect.

There are many videos online of this shooting.

Was this shooting justified?
