MLK Jr was killed by James Earl Ray, who was a career criminal and open racist that had escaped from jail and then fled the country after the assassination.

People were sad when King was killed but not angry at the system for his death.

George Floyd was yet another black man who was killed by police, who are paid to protect the citizens.

People were very angry at the system and the entire country and parts of the world reacted with weeks long protests and rallies.

His death had a bigger impact. His life was not public.

He seems to be saying he's a live and let live kind of guy when it comes to flying the Confederate flag, but a 'you better stand with your hand over your heart' kind of guy when it comes to kneeling during the anthem. Not too consistent.

He was a minor player. A backup driver in what is essentially division three of NASCAR. At 50, he was very unlikely to move up. So he was probably on his way out anyway.
