aaaaand more of the same.
Improvement in the US but worsening in the world.
US 7 day rolling average of daily deaths fell again, this time a substantial amount. Down to 821.
World 7 day rolling average of deaths rose again, this time by a substantial amount. Up to 4,444.
Both numbers have been moving consistently in that direction for weeks.
Big question is when/if the surge in hospitalizations in the American South and West will start causing deaths. So far, not so much. Maybe nursing homes are being protected better? Or maybe it's still early.
Worldwide daily counts of new cases hitting sharply new highs. Not sure how much of that is due to more testing.
In the US daily counts of new cases are stable or falling very slightly.
No changes in the rankings of nations or US states that I am tracking.
