Looking at the 7 day rolling average of daily deaths.

The world continues to see more and more deaths but the US keeps improving.

Not much more to say than that.

The speed of the US improvement continues. On June 2 the 7 day average was 1,050 deaths per day. On June 9 the average was 835.

In the US we're still seeing a rise in case loads in many southern states...but it's not translating into increased deaths. Maybe that mysterious loss of potency the Italians have seen in their virus is also here. Or maybe it's just too early.

betting odds on Predictit have blown out to almost 60/40 in favor of the Dems winning the WH and

56-46 in favor of the Dems winning the Senate.

Both of those are recent swings...until maybe a week ago the Rs were favored in both.

Expect more R pushback against the moran in chief if these numbers continue.

Aaaand The Gap now stands at 13.6 percentage points. Approval is dropping steadily in recent days but I truly think it'll stay north of 40%. As multiple people have observed (in this thread and elsewhere), the election will hinge on turnout: If President Trump gets all of His People to vote, he should win. Rather easily, at least in the Electoral College, IMO.

Meanwhile voting in Georgia was a real horrorshow, and GOPers are completely unmotivated to fix the situation.

I can tell you it's complicated, so it's not going to be a cure-all. The idea is that it was an improvement in general on what we had before.

So, list those complaints and measure them against the increase of access to healthcare for millions of Americans.

if the polls stay like they are now, it's not going to hinge on turnout...Trump's turkey would be thoroughly cooked. If the election were held today it would be a thumping of historic proportions.

But usually these things mean-revert as we get closer and Trump will probably close the gap.
