I generally agree with you, but I also think that conservatism does not have a monopoly on stupid voters. There are lots of them on the liberal side as well. I would say that liberalism is generally more supportive of intellectualism though.
Definitely agree there are stupid people on both sides, but to your last point one party/ideology is more supportive of intellectualism and this is mainly why I'm a democrat. And I agree with LL bigly here that much of it comes down to people needing to accept that complicated problems require complicated solutions. I don't even mind those who say we need to try something new but when it becomes apparent the new way is a massive failure (trump) you don't double down, you try something else.

Are you insane? What tells you Trump is going to win let alone have a landslide victory? Nothing predicts that at all. The betting sites that moron Biff was touting now all point to Biden as the winner. Every swing state is polling for Biden. Texas is close. Former supporters are criticizing him greatly. We will be in recession on election day. The economy sucks. The unemployment rate sucks. Our President is a moron, and more and more people know it.
Maybe you think you are triggering us, but to me at least, you just show how stupid you are.
This period of time with Trump in office has been really horrible, but because it has been so extreme, it has accelerated the push back. Racist monuments being taken down. Tons more women in politics. There will be changes after his reign of ineptitude that will prevent a President from doing many of the things he did. A quicker path to a more liberal society is what Trump and Trumpers have brought us. Congratulations.

Sally, the new slogan for you stupid Trumpers should be "start the wall."
He hasn't done anything you elected him to do. Go away.

Not sure what happened to you, brother. You used to be a reasonable poster.
I'll give you the platform...
After knowing all we know about Trump...that he's a serial liar (that should be enough right there), that he's massively corrupt, that he's dumb as a box of rocks, and a whole host of other things, how can anyone who is smart vote for him? I will give to you as a reminder that he is a SERIAL LIAR, so if you say you like his stance on abortion or whatever else, how do you know he really believes that? Remember that he made the NRA sweat big time after the school shooting in Florida when he openly discussed raising the age needed to buy certain weapons.
He is not an idealist. He has no compass that guides him other than his own self interests.
If you were to vote for him, how are you not one of these two things:
1) JUST stupid.
2) Racist.
Donald Trump is a dangerous man. He has proven that again and again. He is also not a man who keeps his biggest promises. ALL of his main 2016 promises have gone unfilled. Where's the fiscal responsibility? This is the ONE shining thing that Republicans are at least known to support, and he's a mess with regard to fiscal responsibility.
We now have former staffers...retired military (Kelly and Mattis) ripping him apart as a leader. When the hell has that ever happened before? Colin Powell ripped him a new one. Military people who don't respect a Republican President?
Whatcha got, brother?
Your entire post just seems like a non-sequitur to me, but I can't say I've really ever cared for any of your commentary after your little "Melania is a whore" embarrassment, so I could be missing the context I suppose.

First, I'll admit I was too excessive in my original post so I apologize for that.
Second, look at the issues you presented: climate change and healthcare??? Climate change is an extremely complex issue and hardly any Americans actually know how science works. Just look at Fat Hurts. The guy reads a few internet blogs, and then parrots things he hears from inherently, by definition, anti-science groups like "Union of Concerned Scientists." It's an easy political pot shot and scientists have managed to dig themselves into deeper and deeper holes. Despite that, 86% of Americans said they had a great deal or a fair amount of confidence in scientists in a 2019 poll by Pew. As for healthcare, well, I don't think you could have possibly chosen a more complex issue.
The issues we're facing today are extremely difficult to comprehend. The books just on the social hurdles would fill an entire library. Many Democrats claim to have answers, and it's true Republicans reject many of the ideas outright. But do not make the mistake of thinking just because Democrats claim to have answers means they're correct, or even in the same ballpark.

Tell how you fell about Hillary Clinton or Michele Obama. Because your comment screams of someone with filled with fake "embarrassment" who would never call out anyone who called them whores. But someone who does not like (hates) Trump must be called out.
I expect you to vote for Trump, not matter what he does. I expect you to reply that you have not decided who to vote for. But you will vote for Trump. Biden is not an option for you.
Well, they caught the arsonist of the Minneapolis police station. Antifa??? LOL .... how about a white boy named Branden Wolfe. His social media has been scrubbed clean so cannot determine what his politics are at this time.
Interestingly, a Brandon Wolfe (o vs. e) was claimed he tried to save someone from a Minneapolis liquor story building fire that occurred just a few days before the police station fire. He just happened to be in the area with an ax ready to try to save anyone who might be trapped by a fire. But firefighters says that did not find any remains in the liquor store.
Branden Wolfe is Brandon Wolfe. A despicable little POS. Whatever he is he is not ANTIFA.

Was thinking about this just today. Without DJT in the Oval, no way the Dems take back the House in 2018. They have a chance (maybe not a great one) of retaking the Senate this fall--without President Trump, there'd be no chance at all.
BUT these outcomes don't result from the President alone, but rather the combination of him and his GOP enablers. If they had embraced oversight, *forcefully* backed up inspectors general, and generally made POTUS toe the line, they could have had majorities in both houses indefinitely.

Yes, the problems Republican voters face are complicated.
But the solutions Republican politicians campaign on are simple. The solutions to complicated problems are going to have to be complicated, not simple.
We had an issue with millions of Americans not having health insurance.
So Democrats passed a law that had a lot of layers. It provided for most employer coverage to stay the same. It penalized companies for not proving care. It penalized individuals for not having coverage. It created an exchange to purchase insurance from. It provided subsidies for low income earners. It expanded medicaid. It mandated coverage for those with pre-existing conditions. It allowed parental coverage to extend to children up to the age of 26.
All of that lead to a huge increase in Americans having access to healthcare.
Republican politicians said they didn't kike that. They said they'd get rid of that.
But they had no plan for how to do that or what to replace that with.
And they straight up failed when they had the chance.
Complicated problems require complicated solutions.
Republicans have shown that they it has to be simple for them to pass anything.
You put some words together and make it sound like everything you say is true and if you don't believe it you are a moron. However, what you say is obviously not true or 50% of the people would not reject such a great idea.
You forgot to acknowledge all the complaints with Obamacare, or you dismissed them with a magic wand, like the mayor of Chicago.

Please stop with the nonsense. You are not smarter than anyone else.
Public confidence in scientists to act in the public interest tilts positive and has increased over the past few years. As of 2019, 35% of Americans report a great deal of confidence in scientists to act in the public interest, up from 21% in 2016.
About half of the public (51%) reports a “fair amount” of confidence in scientists, and just 13% have not too much or no confidence in this group to act in the public interest.
And the high confidence in the military is higher.
And so what ?????? What is your point?????

As complex as these two issues seem, the majority of Europeans are on the same page about them. Sure, they may disagree on best ways to fight climate change or most efficient structure of free healthcare, but you will have a hard time finding any psychos who claim people are not destroying the planet and that healthcare should not be accessible to all. Most importantly, this unified attitude has led their governments to take action. My point is too many people on the right in the US don’t even agree that these issues are issues at all... so I’ll go with the side that is actually trying to make some attempt to tackle these issues.
