Biden +8.0 per RCP.
That’s a very large number and growing. Maybe these riots are not helping trump after all.

He’s handled them appallingly.
He’s looked weak and fueled the flames with his rhetoric. As always he offers little except bluster.

His biggest mistake, which won't matter to those who are "followers", has been not addressing the issue nationally. He simply looks un Presidential. Even if he had given a 5 minute national address in a half hearted "we all need to come together" with his typical I don't really mean this delivery, he would look a lot better. The last two Presidents have delivered messages within days of the uprising while Trump was hiding. It's a message that even the dimwit Dems can use against him.

I'm sorry to break it to you, but Trump will probably win in November. There will be an extremely powerful disinformation campaign around coronavirus painting the lockdowns as ineffectual, unconstitutional, and uncalled for, with Trump being the brave contrarian calling for an end to the lockdowns.
This will be effective in any swing state as I have seen many conservatives on social medial turn against long time conservative governors, calling them tyrants for implementing lockdowns. Trump would be a fool not to take advantage of this anger, and I am confident this will get him reelected.
This assumes he has performed well since becoming POTUS... you can't hide the terrible economy, > 100k deaths, policy failures, and global embarrassment. Fear mongering works but how do you think he's going to grow his piece of the vote pie, especially with all the opposition and anger he's generated on the left?

Civil unrest does not help the party in power.

Libertarian Centrist is wrong. Trump is going to get destroyed in November.
There’s almost 110,000 dead Americans from Covid-19, there’s about 40 million unemployed Americans, cities all over the National are protesting and at times lawless.
What is your leader doing?
Tweeting about Joe Scarborough.

That is not a “man” that is NOT a leader. That is a weird, weak oddball removed from reality.

For those who think on a superficial level (aka any Trumper), all of these are easy to spin with minimal propaganda. That is the crux of the issue. Trump's message is very easy to understand, rides far on the backs of disinformation, and far more difficult to refute than to deliver.
couple of fact checks I've seen:
1) that study that found trump's hydro drug is dangerous...is being questioned seriously by scientists and should not be cited as evidence anymore.
2) The WH apparently always turns out its lights at 11 PM so that is not unusual. Some say Trump was hiding in the dark.
3) Apparently the WH did not use actual traditional tear gas to bust up a peaceful demonstration for that photo op. They used was smoke and some other chemical meant to force dispersement, but not what we think of when we use the term 'tear gas.' So just as bad, but just for clarification.
the polling is getting worse and worse for trump - at some point even the lily-livered R senators are going to have to step up and push back.
538's top ranked pollster, monmouth, has biden at +11.
Predictit is now forecasting an EC win of 334-204 for the Dems.

If this law professor is concerned about an election without the outcome, here is a solution.
Reelect President Trump! I bet Biden will not contest the outcome. Problem solved.

I think you're being too kind. It's really a colossal miss by trump, both on CV and this civil unrest. He had to really try hard to drop the ball this much. A crisis like CV was the perfect opportunity to boost his approval ratings. Like with war, the country just needed to hear some plan from a confident leader, even if it's just a bunch of lies. His approval rating should have seen a natural 30% boost, a real layup was handed to him. Colossal failure but certainly he can do even worse.

How does he replicate his narrow win against someone as liked as Biden after only being president to less than half the country since taking office? There are just too many fired up americans who cannot stand this guy and you think Dems will just stay home???

I think trumpers point to the enthusiasm gap...that trumpers are much more enthusastic than Bidenators.
And that's true, a real fact, as far as I can tell.
But really Trumpers are so devoid of empathy that they cannot understand why anyone would vote for a democrat ever. It's their achilles heel.

Voters not be enthusiastic about Biden doesn't mean anything at all. The hatred of Trump will stongly motivate people to vote.

if there is virus in the polling places, if trumpers have closed multiple polling stations in swing state cities (which they absolutely will do), if there is civil unrest...you better bet that lack of pro-biden enthusiasm will count.

The hate for Trump will overpower everything.
Most Americans HATE Trump.
Tiny's physical just released.
Still obese. Nothing else of significance.

I'm really not sure about that.
I would certainly be on the "disapproval" side if polled about his performance, but I don't *hate* the man. (I try not to hate anyone, actually.) I just think he's massively unsuited to his job and would rather he not be in it.
