I'm continuing to keep the closest eye on Georgia. We opened first on April 24th, so we are the canary in the coal mine for the rest.
It's looking bad again today. The Georgia Dept. of Health site continues to show exponential growth in confirmed cases with the upward trend starting on May 13th.
Opening up was the wrong move in Georgia. Local press hasn't reported on this yet. But I suspect that some time next week the trend will become too clear to ignore. Once the pressure mounts, governor Brian Kemp will have a big decision. And because he won't admit that he's wrong, he won't close things back down until the infection rate is higher than ever before.
When you open for business, the virus gets to do its business too.
The GOP strategy going forward is to ignore the problem and try and get it on the back burner as much as possible. Make what they can about it be about China and make Biden China's best friend. His base will be sold no matter what the strategy. I'm not sure this works on those he has to convince to win the election.
It's about Trump and not Biden.
Terrible options once again. Maybe it's time for both parties to put forth some candidates who have more than 15 years forward to worry about.
yeah this - Rs are going to create mighty bonfires of BS to divert from the virus.
it's going to tear the country apart, but that's the only way they can win and they are 100% party over country, so it's gonna be Willie Horton, China, nuclear tests, FBI, clinton body counts, pizza gate, Benghazi!
Oh man will they kick things up. Gonna be truly miserable.
