1/ no one knows how many americans are left in afghanistan. That number is simply not tracked and is unknowable.
2/ the americans still in country are mostly dual citizens or married to afghans. But not all.
3/ these americans were told in May to get out. They chose not to get out,. some because they thought they had more time, some because they don't intend to leave. But they chose to stay, knowing the American military was leaving. That means they are either confident of their safety or they are foolish.
4/ the US military will keep trying to get to Americans who wish to get out.
But this right wing talking point that we are prioritizing afghans over americans is silly.
