Job Description
The University of Maine at Presque Isle is seeking to hire an on-campus full-time Head Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Coach/ Assistant Cross Country Coach.
The Head Men’s and Women’s Track Coach is a 12-month position that reports directly to the Executive Director of Athletics. This position will serve as the Head Men’s and Women’s Track teams and assume all duties of a head coach at the NCAA Division III level. This position will assist with other departmental needs as assigned.

The salary range for this position is full time, on-campus position is $45,000- $47,000. The university will take into consideration the salary of current UMS employees for transfer/promotion depending on skills and experience. Additional benefits include medical, retirement, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
Previous track coaching experience or related experience.
Equitable appreciation of all sports.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deal with a variety of people in a courteous, tactful, and efficient manner.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Possess superior organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Ability to recruit, retain, and maintain healthy sports rosters to meet sport sponsorship.
Ability to meet University Motor Pool driving requirements.
Preferred Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Experience working with student-athletes in an academic setting.
Previous NCAA coaching experience.
Previous collegiate playing experience.
Familiarity with NCAA standards, rules, and regulations.
Excellent communication and managerial skills.
Service excellence approach to customer service.
Ability to formulate and articulate policies, procedures, expectations, and practices.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, mathematical/statistical, time management, and organizational skills.
Strong knowledge and understanding of track events, training, and competitions and the recruitment of student athletes.
