Btw, do you have proof that she wasn’t malnourished or immunocompromised or didn’t actually die of a mycoplasma owing to hospital negligence? I get that you don’t like Kory and think he’s a quack, but do you have proof that he’s lying and merely promoting a self serving agenda as you guys have repeatedly said? Cite sources please.
Do you have indications this girl was "malnourished" and/or "not fully immunocompetent" from a credible source?
I’m not sure what constitutes a credible source anymore… CBS 60 minutes? The CDC, whose former director during Covid reinforced why the credibility of the three letter agencies was in question and how it was ok to say you didn’t know all the answers rather than make up the answers? Drudge Report?
It was suggested as a possibility here according to another source:
It doesn’t take an infectious disease specialist to know that mycoplasma pneumoniae (walking pneumonia) doesn’t typically kill a host who isn’t already severely immunocompromised. This is an anomaly. There isn’t absolute proof that malnourishment contributed to it but it’s a reasonable guess (but not proof). I am taking the liberty of extrapolating this, I will readily admit.
Again, this is exactly the type of child who should be vaccinated against measles if we’re going to demand anyone be vaccinated against measles, but this is the Mennonite community so I don’t know how you achieve that. But, again, is any of this even a story if the hospital treats the mycoplasma correctly to begin with? Probably not. Maybe, but probably not.
Again, get your measles vaccine and tell the entire story.
First, the measles can compromise the immune system. Second, immune system is complicated, and people may have a compromised ability to fight certain infections and not others. Third, the Atlantic article is behind a paywall, but when I did a search for malnourished along with the measles death, I found nothing. I had the same lack of hits with immuno compromised.
Below is a recent article describing what we know about the measles and its effect on immune function.
Measles virus replication in lymphoid tissue uses CD150 as a B and T cell receptor. Persistent RNA in lymphoid tissue is associated with generation of durable immunity. Germinal centers and numbers of peripheral Tfh cells and...
In short, you seem to be making a significant intellectual leap when a more parsimonious explanation is evident.
It’s all on the table. I take your point, believe me I do, but there are plenty of studies showing malnourishment can compromise the immune system. As can measles. Most people survive both measles and mycoplasma pneumonia.
She should’ve been vaccinated. No argument from me. We’re very likely not here if she were merely vaccinated. She also should’ve been treated with the proper antibiotic. It’s a non-story if she were and nobody is discussing it.

Isn’t this the same biased media you told use to ignore in favor of Dore and Kory?
Is it really such a leap to assume immunocompromised? She was marinating this illness for three weeks…
“Pneumonia. Measles can commonly cause an infection in the lungs (pneumonia). People with weakened immune systems can develop an especially dangerous type of pneumonia that sometimes can lead to death.”
Learn about this vaccine-preventable disease that used to be common in childhood and is well known for a characteristic red, splotchy rash and high fever.

Burden of proof is on you
She was unvaxxed and died of measles. You are the one trying to bring in nutrition and minimize vaccines.
I don’t understand. What exactly are we gaining from saying “yes, she died of measles and should have been vaccinated, but the biased media didn’t mention her nutritional status too”

I didn’t tell you to ignore anything. I told you to tell the entire story. Do that, and your credibility is not in question.

Not minimizing vaccines.
She died of mycobacteria caused pneumonia secondary to measles.

I didn’t tell you to ignore anything. I told you to tell the entire story. Do that, and your credibility is not in question.
What does the “entire story” add here? You already agree that everyone should get the MMR vaccine and that this girl died of measles. Why does hair splitting the cause of death add anything useful to readers?

What’s your play here? Should we be doing this with cancer and Alzheimer’s too?
Do you think the pneumonia detail is really a valuable bit of information for the reader? Everyone would agree that characterizing this as a “measles death” is fair. Even you would! Extra detail is not automatically better. It’s about communicating the salient points.
What makes you think he has a wife? He previously referred to 2600bro as a they/them on the last page when he referred the “theirs” questions. Is he really a they/them or is Harambe speaking about himself and his alter ego, who are, in fact, the same person?
I wouldn’t trust anything he says now. Truthfulness is the cornerstone of any meaningful argument. Without it, the very foundation of discourse crumbles into manipulation and deceit. To argue without truth is to wield words as weapons, not tools, and to prioritize winning over understanding - something Harambe has repeated is his goal several times on this thread.
When truth is absent, arguments become hollow shells, devoid of substance. They may dazzle with rhetoric or charm with charisma, but they fail to stand up to scrutiny. Worse, they erode trust. A single falsehood can taint an entire argument, casting doubt on even the most valid points. And once trust is lost, it is nearly impossible to regain.
The consequences of untruthful arguments extend beyond the immediate conversation. They poison the well of public discourse, fostering cynicism and division. They embolden others to abandon truth in favor of expedience, creating a vicious cycle of dishonesty. In the long run, this undermines the very fabric of a community like LRC, as shared truths are replaced by competing falsehoods.
I’m sure Harambe will continue to spew lies in order to find support for his arguments. It’s a shame that in doing so he’s actually weakening the argument he’s trying to make.
I’ve lied about nothing. Inconvenient truths for the antivaxxer dogma, sure. But I’m not here to protect your harmful worldview. Not a safe space!

So once again, I looked to confirm your assertions, once again I couldn’t find anything except in a Facebook post. Do you have any evidence that she was improperly treated? If so, please share the link. Understand also, that before cultures come back treatment is not as specifically tailored as we would hope. That is an unavoidable limitation.
We can hypothesize many contributing factors, but without support the most logical conclusion is that when a large number of children, get measles, one of them will suffer, irreversible damage or death, and this girl just happened to be the one who had bad luck.

Harambe- What does your wife think about your porn addiction?

I don’t know 2600 bros gender. Actually I don’t know yours.

The only person who’s said she was improperly treated was Kory, a fraud doctor hyping up his $2000/hr vaccine injury consultation service.
He likely made it up. Nobody can prove otherwise and he’s not a reliable source.
When someone is intensely focused on relatively insignificant details surrounding an issue, it’s a fair assumption they are trying to distract from the higher-level conclusions.
