Well, the fact that the employer is listed as “Army West Point Athletic Association, Inc” should be your hint that this is not a government job.
Alright, whose getting canned and/or retiring/ moving to greener pastures after conference championship weekend?

This has been a revolving job over the past few years. What is the issue here?
My wife has been down in Fayetteville training with Lance since December. She ran for him in college and since retiring last summer, Lance has started a small pro group. Western Illinois has a three laned, tight, rubber indoor track that hasn't been resurfaced since the early 90's. With her pro running goals we decided to have her join Lance's group instead of slugging around on icy country roads with our college men for her workouts.
Also in December, I was told that I needed to have a roster limit of 20 men for xc/t&f. When I was hired three years ago there were only 13 men on the roster. We went up to 30ish, I wanted 35-40 so we could have a chance to win conference, and now we are back down. Good ole Title IX! WIU cut swimming and diving a few years back, the OCR put the department on a three year probation, the AD wanted to add three women's sports to fix it, the President wouldn't let him because WIU is broke, and here we are - reverse discrimination against men's cross country and track & field in order to "fix" discrimination in the department. The three year probation ends in the summer of 2025.
Steph and I talked about it when I was down there over Christmas break visiting - we decided to make the move to Fayetteville. I told the AD and the team after the indoor season. WIU is going to announce a hiring freeze at their upcoming BOT meeting so they wanted to get the positions posted asap to avoid any issues with University policy.
Macomb is basically my hometown. I love the community and the people. The team culture is great and the student-athletes are fantastic to work with. It's a great opportunity for the right person. Paid 56k but I got a bump to 66k last summer, which in Macomb is more like 90k because the cost of living is so reasonable. We only have had two full time coaches on staff since the late 80's. 35:1 full-time coach to athlete ratio this year. Next year they will add a second full-time assistant for ~38k. Email me if you have any questions about it... happy to help!

If the hiring freeze goes into effect, how will they add a second full-time assistant next year?
I believe they already posted that position as well.
Two new positions with Penn Track & Field and the Penn Relays:
Didn't see this posted before:
Any reliable rumors of positions opening soon ?
Pretty sure the Boise State position got taken down now. The link posted before brings you to their school's job website and it has no Head Coach position available to apply for.
Makes me think its posting was merely a formality, which many are anyways.
Not really. I don’t see any major positions opening to create the domino effect. It will be one of those years.

Are they in need of a distance coach or an assistant to the distance coach?
pretty sure the hire will be not as good as previous coach who did well but got cancelled. Good luck to the new sucker.

How did he get canceled?
Ihmels is his own special brand of a hole and deserves to get fired.
I’ve heard it’s the interim that will be getting promoted
