Honestly think that's TL on the other end of that phone call playing the role of Doctor. What a plonker!!! Telling lies is a sin Seth yet you do it every day.

Is peak Seth barely being able to walk, clearly in a lot of pain, but having to set the camera up and film b-roll of himself limping past in agony..?
Hilarious and very true! Close second is the several minutes of mindless rambling in his kitchen about whether this new pain is linked to the last two months of hamstring pains or...or...that trip that I suffered on Pikes Peak a bit back but...but... I am just mentioning now. I think...maybe? I don't know. It could be linked to both incidents? Uhhh...OK! Let's throw it back to an old video...

One thing is him having that monologue, another is him sitting at his computer editing later that evening thinking "this is great stuff!! Lets put that in!!".
Who gives a fk about his injuries, I want to know where the money is coming from...
I don't know why I care about some youtube shoe guy's personal finances, but I find this to be a fascinating question. His sudden urge to buy a big house pretty much coincided with him starting the youtube paid membership thing. I don't know if there's a way to see how many members he has, though. I think that's got to be it. I don't really buy the trust fund theory - if that were the case, where was it when he was driving Uber and buying used craigslist shoes?
His new house was just under $1m, and he sold his old one for just over $500k. If it were completely paid off (which I think is possible), he'd probably need at least $100k income to pay the mortgage. According to https://socialblade.com/youtube/c/sethdemoor his youtube income from viewers could be up to $34k. To get another $70k from memberships, he would need about 800 members per month at the middle tier. That seems like a lot to me, but it also wouldn't surprise me.
I also wonder if he made some money from selling that church video business. His LinkedIn indicates that he's no longer involved, though it appears that it's still active.
Or maybe he was just an early adopter of cryptocurrency.
I'm with you on being fascinated by the financial aspect of this. I simply can't figure out how he does it without some other source of income. TL from all indications doesn't work. Even if he clears $100k from You Tube revenue and memberships, that seems like barely enough to support a seven person family in a HCOL area.
It seems obvious that his financial picture is playing a role in his current drama... he is unable to stop running and filming because he is feeling the pressure of trying to feed his ever growing family. His subscriber counts have stalled, and he's now facing a lot more negative feedback in the comments section. He has to do something, but all he knows is to put out the same content over and over, and even that is threatened because he's injured. It could also explain how he's gotten even more shameless in filming things, like his wife going into labor, because he feels the need to come up with something, anything different (although to be fair, he has always been shameless -- witness him filming while running in a World Championship race).
That being said I can't see him acknowledging the negative feedback and changing anything up. The only time he's acknowledged negative comments was was back in March 2020 during the early days of the pandemic, when he insisted on planning for an April marathon in Europe even as COVID was tearing through Italy and elsewhere around the world. He dismissed COVID as being just like the flu and continued to babble on about it not affecting how he would live his life... he got torn up by the global DGR fam in the comments and two days later he apologized and pulled back his plans. Unfortunately I don't see him doing anything like that now. He lacks the humility.
There's something up with him definitely. Yesterday he was saying he's out of trail shoes and asking companies to send him some for testing. Never pays for anything out of his own pocket. Pinching pennies doest fit with the extravagant house and cars. People who play the poor card while living like he does are usually lying about their wealth.
Seth just received a Salomon just two weeks ago. He has mounds of shoes that only have 25-50 miles on them. He definitely has shoes to run in. He definitely wants people to send him trail shoes because in his mind he will still be running 100+ miles per week. The reality is he really shouldn’t be running at all right now. He just put a poll up asking what topics does his YouTube DGR want to see. Interesting people still like his shoe reviews. I feel bad for the guy. I know he really wants to race Pikes but it is not looking good right now. I hope he listens the advice people are giving him. Maybe now that he is injured and knows people are mad at his foolishness and stubbornness he will change.
Nothing on Strava since he bailed on Bierstadt Friday. So he's either taken three days off (counting Friday as he only went one km), or he's still out today on some 20+ mountain adventure. For his heath and family's sake, I sincerely hope he's finally taking some legitimate recovery time. I don't wish the man any ill will.

It's 3PM in Denver, he would've been back by now. Look like he has royally screwed up his body. Today's video was an obviously pre-recorded shoe review, his injury was not mentioned at all.
I hope TL has put him on some chores around the house, or looking after the kids since he can't run.

One would hope so.
TL: "Look, damn it! You can't run so make your yourself useful for a change. Change Kate's diaper, vacuum the living room, pick up Seth Jr's Legos in the hallway, and make me a damned sandwich! Film it with your drone if you want. I don't give AF."
Its quite sad. In his head he got his hamstring injury by sitting to much. Then he got another injury that gets a lot worse/painfull by sitting. And it seems like he has admitted that both if these injuries forces him to not run as much.
What is his reaction to this? Sit on his ass while driving for hours before he go on long runs, then sit on his ass driving home.
It doesn't make any sense really. Take a week of with your newborn, do some strength training. Get a proper plan from a professional. This could be forgotten in a few months if handled the right way.
She feeds his idiotic habits more than anyone. She’s like an accessory to stupidity.
Harsh, but true. They seem very much in that school of thought that believes supporting your partner just means encouraging them to everything they want to do, even if it's ridiculous.
