I'm not excluding the idea that this might happen, but until someone unburies something suggesting any of this, talking about this as though it's proven fact has played very poorly here in the past.
And I'll give heave to one more idea. The Petros is leaving concept has been here for a few months, and it was true. But it was easier to believe because it was just "Petros is leaving", end of story. In LR's hivemind, Duke has decided to blow up the staff that just won ACCs, has already literally hired everyone they want, all in the course of 6 days? This fails the simple test of Occam's Razor. I suppose it's technically possible, but it seems wildly implausible.
What is some people actually know what they are talking about? Duke is cleaning house. Shawn wants his own people. Period.
Good logic, it does seem ridiculous that the new HC would let go of Rhonda, but that is 100% the decision he has made. He’s a fool. Firing a strong and very capable female who is performing well without cause is not a good look for him or Duke at all.

Do you have any understanding of how coaching works at all? The Duke thing was set in motion weeks ago. The HC at Duke made his decision, quietly lined up his new people, has probably told Rhonda and at the end of the season, she will leave. These things are not played out on Twitter (do you think she is going to post "dang, just got fired!!!)" and certainly not in the middle of the season.

What don't people understand? Head coaches choose their staff; any admin that does not give a Head Coach unilateral control over their staffing is not supporting their head coach.
Also, most assistant coaches know that when you apply for a Head Coaching job at your current institution and are not selected, than you are on your way out.
There’s a lot of administrations that don’t care about the success of their XC and track programs so coaches don’t always get to hire who they want as assistants. Mainly when there are already coaches at a school and you take over as a head coach. Low salaries, budgets , and less scholarships are also indicators.

Jimmy B is retiring after nearly four decades. Maybe with his impending departure, the athletic admins are looking to restructure the coaching responsibilities and titles. Seems reasonable.

The Coach from southeastern Louisiana who really got that program off the ground is taking over at UL-Lafayette. A couple of the SELA athletes are transferring there as well. SELA will need a distance coach and said person will need to hit the ground running literally with recruiting as all of that roster of talent is leaving most notable Shea foster is heading to Oklahoma State.

They have Jim Boulanger listed on Men's Cross Country and Men's Track & Field. Robert Hoppler listed on Women's Cross Country, and Robert Hoppler and Casey Carroll listed on Women's Track & Field. All are listed as head coaches. All are listed as Distance coaches I think. I assume Hoppler is the xc and long distance coach and Carroll is the middle distance coach??? No assistant coaches listed.
Is this a restructure with the current staff that they have to post by state law, or is this a complete overhaul/restructure? Any philosophical motivation from the athletic department for restructuring?
