Then flynn lied to Pence and the FBI about how he actively subverted US policy toward russia. He denied it, despite being recorded doing just that.

THat's what he pleaded guilty to and that is what he should go to jail for.

The current situations is a medically induced coma, which was imposed out of public health necessity. Once the public health problem is resolved, the economy will bounce back. The unemployment rate is high right now, but it will start going down in summer, and we will be on our way to recovery by the election day.

I don't know if we see the October figure before the election. But I bet the September figure will be better than the August figure. And the voters will be influenced by the last numbers they see before the election.

The public health problem is not going to be "resolved" anytime soon.

You need a treatment for the illness and a vaccine to prevent it to be anywhere near resolved.

It takes time for that.

Then you will need full public trust and participation for any kind of bounce back.

Travel plans will be way down for business and pleasure even after resolution of the health problem.

This year, for sure is done for big travel and tourism.

A bounce back has to include all industries bouncing back.

Also, there will be panic saving. There will be a fear of a slide back, so many people will save instead of spend. That hurts a bounce back.

2008 wasn't widely systemic. It was mostly tied to bad real estate loans. That knocked a lot of dominoes and businesses tightened up their hiring, which made things worse.

The airlines are in big trouble.

Hotels are in big trouble.

Restaurants are in big trouble.

Many small business are closed that will not ever open.

There will be a lot fewer people able to do not much more than provide basic food an shelter.

There may be a positive trend from August to September to October.

But that unemployment trend may look like 25% to 20% to 15%.

And 15% unemployment is pretty awful.

We may be in economic doldrums for years after this.

I cannot see a bounce back by November.

In the law there is a concept of "deep pockets": You only sue a party if you believe it has the funds available to let you at least recoup the expenses of the suit. I'm not familiar with this Bongino but suspect that he does not have pockets that are nearly deep enough to justify taking him to court.

I *am* familiar with CNN and the Washington Post, though I never (never) watch the former and rarely read the latter--I don't vote Democratic--and I know that both have publicly retracted or corrected stories. Has bongino.com ever retracted/corrected a story? Ever?

Bottom line: If Bongino has never been sued for falsehoods, that in no way implies that he hasn't made them. He has, and more than once. Retractions/corrections/apologies? Not that I've heard of.
