Still so sad to see what Trump is doing to the DOJ.
You see how nations can fall.
He's trying to break the rule of law.
First he intervened to change sentencing for Stone
then he gave a pocket pardon to Flynn.
Apparently no one can ever remember the DOJ dropping charges after obtaining a guilty plea, ever.
When the government actively tries to destroy institutions and norms, that's when you turn into Argentina.
They were one of the richest countries in the world but they elected trumpish people and that was that - slide into poverty and political chaos.
That's our route if we re-elect this guy. It might still be our route, given the tens of millions of magas who aren't going away.
Dems need to win in order to air out all the crimes. There are so many we can't even remember them.
This is quite true. No one expects that their own country will take this type of fall but in many respects its that very attitude, that they can do anything without worrying about consequences which occurs before great countries have fallen in the past.
The scary thing is that Trump has a chance for re-election. I think so many people are scared and hurt about their jobs, that if Trump places himself in the role of the person who will fight for their jobs, he has a chance for re-election. As people become more and more frustrated with the stay at home policy, that might increasingly affect voting. Particularly if Democrats position is to do the responsible thing. Its the right call, but it won't be the political call.
Trump is good at getting rid of any who doesn't put total loyalty to Trump above anything including honesty, ethics and self dignity. This is destroying our institutions which are the foundation of our democracy.
We won't be the first great country that fell due to a lax citizenship.
