Bigger than Running just dropped an IG reel saying people should start a YouTube channel to inspire others.
He’s followed it up with another reel saying people should start a YouTube channel as he gets sent lots of free stuff from brands.
It's been inspiring to see his journey this year to get to a pretty decent level. I don't think there's many on this forum that can genuinely say they've got a sub 21 minute 5k - even if it was paced by Bester
FYI Aubrey and Nick have released another video on breaking 21. It's actually fascinating to heard their thoughts at various points of the attempt and the human psychology behind such an endeavour. Would recommend.

Always fascinating watching people challenge the limits of what's humanly possible. Bester showing levels of scientific understanding normally reserved for some of our greatest thinkers like Chris Williams, Rogan or event Huberman -- you can tell he's skimmed their audio books!
I'm glad someone mentioned Donato - I've just discovered his channel through algorithm magic and it turns out he's a very good masters runner, and also has a great personality and is a bit of a zany character. Some of these other influencers take themselves a bit seriously, but Donato aka poetwithpace knows how to laugh at him self, and he tends to tell it like it is, giving you the raw, unvarnished truth in his vlogs, oh yes, no product placement, no brown-nosing brands and all that jazz, just the real deal right there on his channel.
and this was before he started scamming people with $2000/yr running 'coaching' services and neglecting his family by hiding in a tree! the man's net worth must have skyrockteed ten fold since this video! oh blowberg you are a devious capitalistic vulture under the veil of a warm-loving 'creative'. what a genius the guy is. keep grifting brother!

For someone who admits that YouTube and vlogging is narcissistic behavior, he sure does lean into it! Takes it to the max but sharing your net worth?
look at me! Look at my life and how much money I make doing internet stuff!
What a great trio appearing together in the latest ItsOnAndy video. Collab of 2026 so far.
FOD , ItsOnAndy, MARM
The banter was off the scale. 3 hugely different philosophies to running.
FOD - the scientist. Think I saw he is coached by WelshRunner? And they are close friends. Makes sense as Welsh runner deep dives big time into the science.
ItsOnAndy - big mileage at easy pace. Late to running but slow steady improvement. A great watch following his progress. Seems more realistic than others.
MARM - a laissez faire attitude to running. Doesn’t really use any particular training method and runs very low mileage for his excellent times. Still waiting for Tim Grose to analyse Marm running as he has to be bang for your buck the most naturally talented YouTuber. Hes in his late 40s/early 50s and runs about 30k a week (if that) and is smashing out 17:xx 5ks and 80 minute half marathons. With training he’d be battering Bester
At least this is the most entertaining thing he could do. I'm the most tempted I've ever been to throw my hat in the ring and join this circus. I don't think I ever posted a follow-up after saying I'd also be doing CIM and "racing" him but I injured my VMO while goofing around with my kids and DNS'd. In retrospect I was begging for an injury but I basically attempted a weighted (lifting my kid) full extension reverse nordic. I can't seem to do any cycling or elliptical without bothering it so this is turning into quite the setback. I may have to resort to swimming like my idol Phily Bowden. Seated shadowboxing has been suggested to me. What better way to start a road to OTQ series than seated shadowboxing?
With my PR technically a 2:38 (despite having been fitter) and currently injured, I'm in the perfect position to copy the RTJ strategy. I could also stand to lose 25-30 pounds. The similarities are eerie. If only I could cycle 2-3 hours a day like he was. Maybe I'll be able to soon.
What better time to announce my plan to OTQ? If it comes down to a last-chance qualifier in Dec '27, I'll be 41 years old. If I don't make it there's always 2032 at 45. I did make the varsity team in high school though so I guess any success I achieve would be all talent, unlike JV hero Truett Hanes.
Why are you carrying on like anybody know or cares who you are bro??
You’re right. I thought it would’ve been good content for the thread if I raced Floberg and Hanes at Chicago and CIM, since I was coincidentally in ~2:30 shape and signed up for both races. And I’ve been one of the biggest critics of Flobergs training especially. But they both fell through so I’ll stop inserting myself.

Probably for the best fella. They ain’t no Bester but they’d annihilate you.
I’d like to see you set some big goals for 2026 though. See if you can beat Aubrey or Fordy in a race. You can do it, we all believe in you! 👍🏻

The concept of detailing your personal finances online would have been hideously off-putting twenty if not just ten years ago.
I don't get it.
Isn't it enough to say- I do well enough from my videos to support my family and make my house payments? Past letting people know that your videos are work and not just a trust funder hobby, nobody cares.
Also, not to be a brat but if you feel the need to talk about your money you don't really have any-
wow $310k net income 3 years ago. floberg is swimming in the moolah and stroking himself. and that was before all the run scamming like everyone has pointed out! mainly from his videography online courses and other crap. so he must still be pulling in 200-300k/yr with all the running bs + residuals/passive income from the wedding photography/videomaking e-courses he's created. this is a grade A con artist folks. a gentleman and a scholar.
shout out to the dumb dumbs who continue to stayed signed up for coaching from the great eric floberg. you all are continuing to keep this narcisstic overcompensating daddio filthy rich.
man it is freaking hilarious to watch this guy ridicule himself online because he has no other strategy other to acknowledge the fact he is indeed a narcisstic douchebag. he calls himself a narcissist is every video and photo he posts. hey blowberg, just cus you acknowledge it doesn't make it any better..you could hmmm idk...actually change your behavior just a bit and do better going forward. or maybe own up to ripping people off for $150 a month and pocketing $90k off of 50 clueless heads.
I think he addressed this in one of his earlier videos, as I recall he doesn't think the ultra running world is anywhere near as competitive and the marathon is where the true glory is. Especially in Japan, sure they love ekiden more than anything else but after that it's all about the marathon. Of course he can change his mind and do any distance he wants to, but I think that's how he set his stall out a while back.
I'd love to see him take up his place at Comrades. When Steve Way did his second Comrades he was 11th around 60km, and stormed through the field to finish 3rd. That was a year they ran the course downhill, wonder if Jake would factor up/down year into his calculations - next event will be an up run.
Does anyone know what happened to Steve Way after his third at Comrades in 2018 or if he is still running? He is in his fifties now — he was 40 when he made the English team for the Commonwealth Games in 2014.
I found this old thread about Steve where he posted as “Marigold”.
After searching for a podcast interview for Steve Way (English 100k Record Holder and former UK Master's Marathon Record Holder), I am able to answer my own question. He decided to half-retire from competitive running after nagging injuries forced him to drop out of Comrades in 2019. When Covid hit and there was no competitive running, he had no chance to revisit the decision. He still (as of late 2022) exercises for an hour a day mostly on Zwift (indoor biking) and runs about twice a week.

Everything you’ve said is true! It’s vulgar — most YouTubers don’t want to expose the shilling. They tell us how much they earn from ad revenue; however, that’s only a tiny fraction of their income. Blowberge discloses his earnings because he’s realised it’s easier to sell shovels to desperate individuals trying to make money than to earn an honest living himself. I guarantee he's going to release some YouTuber course at some point.
Calum Goddard-Mocklow of the Motional Intelligence podcast has announced he's running London Marathon with Runna (shock). He has also said he is going for sub 3, LOL.
Considering he is averaging 34km a week and his recent 'easy runs' have been 6 minute K's with a HR in the mid 150s, good luck to him. What actually goes through these kids heads when they choose a goal time?
Can someone tell Hugo Fry to put his birds face on Instagram already?? I’ve seen butterfly’s do harder launches than this. We want to see if she’s fit and also if she has any milkers. It’s not hard
Is his bird not that Mary one who jumps around like a lunatic to cosplay being "fun and quirky"?
