Statistically I wonder what they got so wrong. It wasn't just opening states...they underestimated deaths even before states started reopening.

Clearly it's because even though they are experts they were simply estimating with the best information they had... they are readjusting with more information..
It makes sense to me. The SIP is doing exactly what it's been expected to do,.. flatten the curve. Which means to me extending the time it takes to run it's course.... they are probably now using a death per infection closer to what happened in NY... I assume that anyway.
Flattening the curve means it's flatter and will take a longer time to head down the other side.

Yeah, that's why I thought the whole Russia hoax was ridiculous. Trump campaign was too chaotic to criminally conspire with any entity, let alone a foreign government. That story had no credibility from the beginning.
