There is no way to prove that. How could anyone know, at this point in time, how long a person would take to recover without the elixir? It seems to work just like a placebo; affecting how someone perceives their "improved" condition without actually having any impact on the disease itself.

There are no credible sources to substantiate your claims about China. Your wild conspiracy theories won't solve the problem.

Regardless of their methods, there is no dispute that China has been very successful and we have failed.

Of course, many of the measures taken in China would not be tolerable to Americans. We would need to do what they did "American style".

However, that does not change what it takes to be successful against the virus.

1) Shut everything down.

2) Stop the spread.

Our problem is that we don't have competent federal leadership to make that happen. During World War II, we had the right kind of leadership for this sort of mobilization. But president Archie Bunker doesn't have the ability to do what it takes.

Our problem is that we don't have competent state leadership in NY, NJ and CT. Outside of those three states, we are doing better than most Western democracies. Draconian measures like the ones in China would not work in an open society.

I've been trying to stay out of this lately because we are now 2 -3 months in and there is still no clear cut direction... we still have folks arguing from opposite ends of the spectrum....

That said, I hate to point this out to you but if some degree of herd immunity 'could never happen' then your plan wouldn't work either unless you think we could follow your 3 step plan forever. This is because even if the 330 million people in the US were able to fall in line with your 3 step plan,( a very unlikely scenario ) that wouldn't be enough... you'd need the entire world to follow your plan which is simply not possible. The virus doesn't recognize borders.

And believe me I'm not suggesting that we should just open everything up either.... i think that plan and your plan are equally wrong.

You are dead wrong. DEAD wrong.

This is a national crisis. Tiny declared a NATIONAL emergency. It requires a national response. The virus doesn't care about state borders.

It didn't take draconian measures to win World War II. But it did take great leadership in the White House. We just don't have that now.

The bottom line is:

America failed.

Everyone who needs a test STILL can't get a test.

It's not my plan. It's China's plan and it is proven to work. Once you have the virus under control it becomes very easy to isolate new outbreaks.

Eventually, we will have an effective vaccine and/or an effective treatment. The plan doesn't go on forever.

But the great thing about the China plan is that relatively few people die and the economy gets back to normal a lot sooner.

Are people from all over the world flying into and out of china right now?

As I said, we'd have to follow your (or china's plan ) forever without some sort of herd immunity or a cure. I'm sorry, at this point, i think our best option is somewhere between 'china's solution' and the 'open everything and be damned' solution.

Either way, it doesn't matter much what either you or I think since neither of us have any control over it anyway.

You could join the other deniers in armed protest lol.
