Let me reiterate for the record: I believe Biden's running mate will be Elizabeth Warren.
So noted.
But, while I agree with you on many things, I cannot agree here. TWO septuagenarians on the ticket?--with the real possibility that the VP would move up to the presidency before 2025? I can't see it. (And others have already addressed Warren's liabilities.)
I *do* think that Warren would be a valuable Cabinet member. She is seriously oriented toward, not just ideology, but *making things work*. That's a tremendous asset in a Cabinet secretary.
Bernie Sanders would not be nearly as useful an addition IMO. I could see his being offered a Cabinet post as a strategic decision--"better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside the tent pissing in"--but he would bring a lot of baggage and reduce the Cabinet's credibility for a lot of voters. Also, he's really been noted for not playing well with others.
If the Democratic nominee (presumably Biden) wins, I think it will be an extremely narrow win in the Electoral College, and that the choice of VP candidate will be governed by that. Harris would certainly get more AAs *actually voting* (Biden is their guy, but that doesn't necessarily translate to going to the voting booth); would that tip the balance in some battleground states? Klobuchar might be better received in Midwestern swing states; could she make enough of a difference for some 2016 Trump states to turn blue?
