4/18 data
we've had three good days...but over 7 days we are still just treading water.
3 day averages have gone substantially negative for most nations and regions. Which is good.
3 day averages:
World: -6%
US: -7%
But when we go to 7 day averages...same old thing, low single digits positive.
World: +2% per day
US: +3% per day. Which is actually probably the best 7 day figure the US has had. So maybe that's not treading water at all.
Italy is the standout over 7 days with its -2% per day average.
France is the worst with its +7% per day average, but France data is absurdly bad. I don't think France is actually getting worse.
One note: Nate Silver thinks it's possible that the US has a bimodal peak...that as NY/NJ/CT go down the back of the curve the nation's total also falls...but then the other parts of the country pick up the pain and form a second peak. So we could get all optimistic and then get slammed.
