Well Grift is running the Mesa marathon which has damn near the maximum elevation loss possible without incurring a 5 minute time penalty for Boston qualification. I think he stands a chance to dip under 3 hours if he keeps his current training up without injury. If he does, look forward to endless posts about how he went sub 3 and earned his BQ with zero mention of the assistance from gravity.
But 2:50? Not a chance in hell. Maybe on one of those 5,000 foot drop courses.
