Let’s just consider a hypothetical situation: Imagine a political candidate of any party. That person either commits a crime before declaring or after having done so.
Do you investigate? If so, do you prosecute? If you don’t do either, consider the possibility that the candidate takes this as carte blanche for committing crimes. If the crimes get more frequent and/or more severe, do you investigate or prosecute?
If you don’t, how do you view risk and reward in that scenario?
I seem to remember trump and crowds chanting 'Lock Her Up'. But now they don't want trump to be investigated or charged for crimes? Rule of Law. No kings.

For the sake of the country, our party, and a basic respect for the truth, it is time that Republicans come to grips with the hard truths about President Trump’s conduct and its implications. Chief among them: Trump’s indictment is not the result of unfair government persecution. This is a situation entirely of his own making. The effort to present Trump as a victim in the Mar-a-Lago document affair is cynical political propaganda.

Reading is a fundamental skill. I started my post acknowledging that Hunter Biden committed crimes. I used hoax in the final paragraph regarding allegations against Joe. So far, those allegations have not been supported by evidence, and even the GOP politicians that claimed they have evidence weeks ago now admit that they don't have it, don't know where it is, and that it may not exist.
