Trump's abysmal handling of the crisis will be directly responsible for tens of thousands of excess American deaths. I hate to be that blunt, but it's painfully obvious.
He's doing a little better now, but the time when good leadership could have made a big difference has largely passed.
He isn't doing better. The arguments by the health experts left him with nowhere to go. But the misleading and inaccurate statements, the rewriting of history, the boasts, the bluster, the blaming and the attacks on the media continue. He is incapable of leading. America will survive this crisis despite him, as leadership falls increasingly on state governors, but he will add to Americans' suffering and the toll of lives - as he has already.
