I will say, for those who like to pretend that they are about old traditional US values, it's perplexing to see them actively rooting against America. There's nothing to celebrate here. If you believe this was a debacle (as I do), this shouldn't make you happy.
At no point in the previous 4 years when Trump made an a$$ of himself and our country did I celebrate it. Biden and his administration was grossly underprepared for the decision he made. He's paying the price for it politically and many are going to unnecessarily suffer as a result (can't believe that US citizens and individuals who have helped the US couldn't have been evacuated or relocated prior to the pull out of troops).
Biden deserves criticism. But celebration for his misstep?

I don't think it's the case that "breakthrough cases are becoming more prevalent than previously expected". The initial vaccine trial results indicated they (Pfizer & Moderna, at least) were 95% effective which means breakthrough cases are not unexpected. The hospitalization statistics, to my knowledge, are consistent with something on the order of 5% or less of hospitalizations being fully vaccinated persons.
With the Delta variant being much more contagious we're seeing a lot more cases through the general population so more likelihood of breakthrough cases as well. That these are somehow more news worthy creates the perception that they are happening at a higher rate than expect, but I don't think the statistics supports that perception.

I don't think we agree on much, but this is a rare case where we do. Never liked when Presidents "take off" during a time of perceived crisis. Say what you want about the situation in Afghanistan, it's something that should require his full attention. Golfing, going on/staying on vacation, going home during these times (I know the job can be done remotely) will always be perceived as not taking it seriously. Presidents should always appear to be "on the job." I was critical of President Golf for taking as much time away from his desk in the previous 4 years. It's only fair Biden receive the same criticism here.

As bad as the Biden interview portion that was broadcast by ABC News was, it appears that the portion that they decided to edit out was much, much worse for the president. President Biden appeared "confused, unpresidential, and incoherent." ABC decided that the American people did not need to see the president in such a bad state. Biden thought his deceased son, Beau, had been in the navy when instead he had been in the Army and he also thought Beau had served in Afghanistan when Beau had instead had served in Iraq. These are not trivial mistakes. Joe Biden has the nuke codes. The guy is about as nutty as they come.
