I’ll take the lack of reporting on it in the USA as a good sign.
KAG2020
The point is that we don't know if it works or not. When we know for sure, then the reporting will follow.

He might just be. Joe Biden in the last 4 months? Where the heck has he been? He appeared on the View and embarrassed himself by saying how the "cure" might be worse than the pandemic. Seriously, his only comments about the pandemic in the last 4 months has been how the cure might be worse than the pandemic. At the same time Trump has been appearing at daily press conferences comforting the nation and making everything work greatly. Nice job, Donald!

Running totals in US:
2020 Coronavirus:
93,000 cases in the US
About 2100 deaths
Killing 2.25% of those infected
2018 flu:
39 million cases in the US
80,000 deaths
Killing 0.2% of those infected
2009 Swine flu:
60 million cases
12,469 deaths
Killing 0.021% of those infected
So so far we have about 2100 deaths of this "pandemic" when we had 80,000 deaths from the flu. That is 40 times more. And in 2009 we had 60 MILLION (not a typo) of the swine flu versus a few thousand of this so-called pandemic. A crock.
Why do you do this crap? Yes, we know that the number of confirmed cases is underreported due to a lack of testing and a large number of people being asymptomatic, but it’s clear that this is many times deadlier than the seasonal flu or the 2009 swine flu.
In Italy, this has already killed more three times the number of people that died in car accidents there last year. Is that a crock?
CBS has been caught using footage from Italian hospitals claiming it is new York hospitals to push what can only be described as an agenda. Otherwise why do it?

You don't think it is monumentally negligent to report that this so-called "pandemic" has killed about 2100 Americans and the flu of 2018 killed 40 times that???!! Like 2100 killed by this pandemic and 80,000 were killed in 2018 by the flu? We never shut down anything 2 years ago but we bring the whole US economy to a halt over something that is overblown???

How does this sound: “The flu kills 20 times as many Americans as died in the September 11 Attacks, so the attacks weren’t worth a huge response from the US government.”
It’s just dumb.
80,000 people died from the flu because 60 million people caught it. And many of those died of the flu didn’t take the vaccine that helps mitigate the worst of the flu.
At 2.25%, if 60 million Americans catch this virus, 1.35 million will die. Will it be a big deal then?
Thankfully, by shutting down the economy, we’re taking steps to make sure that 60 million people don’t catch this. But please, tell me why that’s a bad idea.

Sally, what is the ultimate number of possible deaths that would justify the current precautions? One million?

I looked at just ONE of your statements. You said 60 million caught the flu. You are mixing the flus up. The 2009 Swine flu had 60 million cases. The 2018 flu had 80,000 deaths. You are confusing me because your facts are all over the place.

Aztec - it is terrible - but we have 2100 deaths so far. Two years ago we had 80,000. We were not shutting down every Dennys, TGIF and every Chilis around. We shut down NOTHING!. What is it that we are shutting down everything down now? Today 2100 deaths versus 80,000 2 years ago. We were not freaking out back then..
Jeff - I think it is a great idea to shut down everything. I really do. But we are making this much more than it is.

Jesse - can you explain to my niece who is only 4 that the "cure" is worse than the virus?

Who is promising us that we're going to reduce the number of people who catch the virus? Not even Dr. Fauci is promising that.

Because this is virus is many times deadlier and seems to spread far more easily than seasonal flu.
Yes, 80,000 people died of flu-related illness, but out of 60 million incidents of flu. That’s a much lower fatality rate than 2100 out of 93,000.
